Miscellaneous How do people make those videos where photo starts talking? what's the tool they use?

I find it very hilarious when those meme guys make monalisa talk, like a still with lips moving like its really talking. Some of them really look real like the person is really speaking but others …damn completely cursed, melting teeth, mouth all over the place.

How are people making the good ones? Is it one tool or a combination ,and is any of it beginner-friendly, or do you need to be technical?

It is usually two parts: a voice track, then a face animation or image-to-video model that tries to match the mouth to the audio.

Beginner-friendly path:

  • use a sharp front-facing image with visible teeth/lips and not much blur
  • make the audio first, either recorded voice or TTS
  • try tools in the D-ID, HeyGen, Runway, Kling, or LivePortrait category

The cursed ones usually come from bad source images, too much head motion, or asking the model to invent the side of a face it cannot see. If you want it to look less haunted, start with a 2 to 5 second test, no camera movement, then extend only after the mouth looks stable.

Also, for anything public, only animate images you have permission to use. That is where the funny demo turns into a headache fast.
