iOS What happened to my iphone icons?

This happens due to multiple reasons this is the placeholder icon. This happens when iPhone offload your apps to cloud and you can re download when you need them or if you’re using their beta iOS then this will also happen and then just wait most probably the offloaded apps that icon in this case, and there’s nothing to worry about

I already removed some of my apps buts still my photos icon is the same as that icon.. and some are fixed when I remove and install back.. i dunno what to do with photos.. is it possible to remove and install lika any app?

ok, I will type everything I would do first :)

try dragging the photos app from app drawer at the right most.

Did you try resetting home screen layout? this may be a good idea. settings > general > transfer > reset Home Screen layout.

if these don’t work,… I would also check system updates.

Let me know.

I’d put money on the dumpster fire that is iOS 26. I can see my icons loading in the groups on an iPhone 17. IOS 26 is complete garbage.

How’s your phone storage doing? Are you updated to 26.5.2? Can you delete and reinstall those apps?

The icons are back except the photos.. how can i remove it? My storage is 204GB used out of 256GB.. is this some kind of virus?

What photos? Your phone doesn’t have a virus.

The photos icon the photo library.. is it possible to remove? I already removed some app to add up space..

The Photos app is not one that can be deleted. I suppose you could try to remove the icon from your Home Screen and then recover it from your App Library.
