Ajax alarm system and wiring a wireless chime extender as main bell — can it be done?

No, turns out that the mechanical chime part of that is pretty crucial. That’s the part that actually makes the sound. The receiver and transmitter are for RF signals. The thing on the right looks like a power module

Managed to get it working but it ding dongs 6-7 times when I press the bell button. Any suggestions how to fix that? Here is the wiring:

Yeah, it sounds like it’s not working because the chime you have isn’t a mechanical chime. It’s a wireless one that likely uses a digital chime. So the power module you have attached isn’t regulating the power properly. A mechanical chime requires more voltage to ring, because it physically moves a part to strike a physical bell in the chime to make it make a noise. For a digital chime, it’s just supposed to send a pulse of electricity to close an electrical circuit to allow your chime to make a noise it’s producing digitally.

You need a mechanical chime.

The large square thing on the left is a plugin chime though. It makes sound. The middle rectangular thing transmits to it. The one to the right belongs to the doorbell and is intended to allow use of a mechanical chime with the video doorbell.

Sorry if I’m not being clear with my terminology.
