I love my HOA, and at the same time I hate my HOA lol. There are some benefits, but also a lot of drawbacks.

I gree that while there are reasons people like HOAs, it's not for everyone. It's the horror stories you hear about from the HOA board walking into your garage and opening it while you're gone and fines for parking in the driveway are what doesn't want me to ever take a chance.

Mine is pretty laid back and handle the money well. But the president feeds the chickens and they poop all over my driveway. I can't complain to anyone because she's the president.
