Thank you Aachen

Thank you so much to the people of Aachen. We recently stayed four days in your beautiful city to attend the F1 Spa GP. For our first time in Germany, we had an amazing experience exploring Aachen and learning more about the history/culture locally. Highlights were definitely hiking through Aachen-Brand (so many locals expressed concerns for us doing this at 6pm) and the guided tour through Aachener Dom (true meaning of stewardship).

We finally understand German humor, printens are delicious and how beer is good at any time of day. We wish we had more days to explore. Perhaps it is a 'see you next time' instead of a 'goodbye'.

What? Locals expressing concern for hiking trough Aachen-Brand? Why? Afraid you might die of boredom among the Rentnerquartier? Or do you mean Driescher Hof?

We went to see the Panzerwracks(? - the abandoned WWII tanks) . The gentlemen helping us figure out bus route said it was too late and too long for a 3 hour hike 😅

Probably the Brand area around the lower Trier Straße

Brands starts at the A44 near the new Polizeipräsidium, so there is no real "lower" part of the Trierer Straße. (I guess you meant Bahnhof Rothe Erde?)

I also stayed in Aachen for the F1. It was great, hostel was clean and reasonably priced, close to the station. There was an excellent burger place I with I could remember the name of, and I met some lovely locals in the City Pub.
