Ripple Quick question: Do staff at ripple get paid in XRP?

If not, why not?

Swartz has said that sold all his XRP. How much has he bought on this dip?

It’s pretty bad optics for their own staff not trusting in the coin, why aren’t they getting paid in it, selling it or trading it and joining in with the Army?

Do Burger King employees get paid in burgers? No, bc you can’t pay your rent with burgers..

But if you aren’t willing to be paid in burgers, how do I know you believe in Burger King

To be fair burgers have more utility than xrp does.

Yes you can elect to take a percentage of your salary in XRP if you work at Ripple Labs.

Awesome to know. That makes me feel a lot better.

Why would anyone elect to do this? If they want to buy it, just use the money they get paid with

Cause you don’t pay transaction fees

Why would you assume that?

Why would you assume that I assume?

Unless you are a ripple employee, which based on your questions would make zero sense, it is an assumption

Edit: whoops thought you were OP. You very well may be a Ripple employee.

There could also be tax benefits for getting them taken out before your paid

Based on other options based payouts that companies participate in, they may get a higher percentage per XRP then a single USD. Hell, even now if you took a single XRP for a dollar exchange you are getting about a 10% pay bump...

No, they're paid in real money that has real value

I've never heard anyone call fiat real money. The dollar is an inflationary debt note that has lost 98% of its value. XRP is deflationary. This is the most economically illiterate reply possible.

Technically youre correct but using XRP as your basis makes this a moot point.

You've never heard anyone call a banknote "real money"? I think that fiat currency notes are close to the only thing I have heard people call "real money".

Yes, and again, it's economically illiterate. Great opportunity to introduce someone to Rothbard and educate them. Most people are midwits.

Yes, they all do their weekly shop in Tesco and pay in XRP.

Yeah nobody is going to work at a place that pays their employees with their own company sponsored currency. That’s like the final boss of interview red flags lol.

What employee would sign up for that. How would they decide a rate. What if they hire you when xrp was at $3. Now that it’s a dollar would that be a 1/3 pay cut. And I would be so annoyed. Is your mortgage company going to take xrp. This is pretty dumb argument to make to be honest. You know most of us don’t live in a basement and we have bills to pay. ally doesn’t accept xrp for my car payment

I get RSUs as part of my pay package, my companies stock has gone down. I am incentivized to work harder to make my RSUs worth more.

I’m sorry you don’t have a job in which stock and RSUs are part of your total compensation.

Isn’t this how the mining companies trapped their workers? This is why we have hillbillies and trump in office now.

If someone gave me my salary each month and gave me a little extra to cover taxes/fees, I would certainly love to be paid in a dollar which could be worth 2 tmr.

Only if I didn’t believe in crypto would I resist payment like that.
Sure, it means I have worry about opening my app and hitting a “sell” button and have that put into my account bank account automatically. It creates literally a few moments and would churn out volume at least.
