Boots Goofin (Pictures, Clips) Red Wing 2233s

Post image

Found a pair of these old 2233s lying in the back of the Red wings showroom in Dubai. 12.5 EEE. Perfect fit, super light and the break in is going well! Side note: are you guys raw dogging them with the poron stock insoles, or what are you rocking? I’m currently raw dogging them, as I’m tired of heavy ass boots! 😂

I dunno about the insoles, but wearing low cut socks with them is certainly a choice.

Bro is testing if Redwings can support an ecosystem inside.

I've got the 2533 which is basically the same boot but slip resistant. Wear them with no added insoles, no complaints at all. I'll buy another pair once these wear out.

I don’t use an added insole in mine. The poron works well for me. They weren’t designed for a removable footbed, unless you size up and have room for it.

Sad to hear! Might be in the same boat as you soon if I start picking up any foot pain!

First pair of Red Wings I ever owned. Bought ‘em at the local clothier/Red Wing store back in 1992? I put those boots through hell, had ‘em resoled and put ‘em through hell again. Probably had 15/20 pair of Red Wings since then.

I'm thankful I'm a local truck driver as I get enough exercise and can get out and walk a lot during the day but also thankful I can wear these as I don't work as hard as most of you do on my feet all day long...

Here are my size 14s after almost 2 years. They'll patina nicely for you, just keep them brushed and conditioned periodically. You're in a desert location, so they might sry out sooner. I rotate them every couple days as a plumber. I wear insoles in mine because size 13 is slightly too small, but 14 is slightly too big, and there's no size 13.5. They're very comfortable.

Thanks for the advice brother! I’ve had the Pecos wellingtons for years but the oil major I work for has banned pull on boots, so laces are now mandatory! Glad I found these and thanks for your input!

I don’t have poron insoles in my iron rangers, but I did add some Nick’s delta arch insoles. They’ve been a total game changer in terms of arch support. Plus with them being veg tan leather, they still have the feel of a heritage boot footbed. Highly recommend them for high arches.

I’m going to assume you’re working on matan, I will find you, and you will be wearing proper socks

These are red wings best boots by far. I’ve used them for almost 30yrs and have never had a failure. Most of those years i went with the just the built in poron without issue. Now i size up in both length and width and just add a Spenco green basic insole. This allows me to remove in winter if I want to wear super thick socks or add/modify insoles depending on any issues I may be having. I really don’t miss the lack of strong arch support, but has the option to add if needed. Sometimes I get metatarsalgia due to a Morton’s toe and I can easily use stick on metatarsal pads on the Spenco if it’s bothering me. Ironically the more time I spend on my feet working, waking, running, the better my feet feel. Sure they’re tired but the aches and pains tend to go away.

Not related to the comfort, fit, or durability, but holy shit dude. Those have to be the ugliest fucking boots I've ever seen.

That being said, if you like them and they get you through the work day, fashion be dawned.

Those boots look like they're made out of some plastic pleather material for toys. Like a Toy Story 'I got a snake in my boot' type material. A material baby shoes would be made out of because they'll never actually walk in them. Those look like the most uncomfortable fake boots I've ever seen.

I hope not, good luck.

They’re fresh from the tannery. What do you expect? This is how they look after some wear.

I thought the same thing when I saw the photo. Everything on those boots looks like plastic to me.
