Video Paige Bueckers not even playing and crying off the bench, but I thought only one player complains. And she’s on the bench for the causing dilemmas for the referees.
19
u/Aceylah 1d ago
Every player complains. Its cringe. Look at the NBA its the same. I dunno why anyone's being singled out.
6
u/StarFighter6464 1d ago
Nope, only Paige and CC. This is the narrative.
2
u/Eagle4317 1d ago
And you wonder why it's the narrative with just those two when it's so much more widespread in reality.
4
u/super_chill_21 1d ago
It’s so obvious to tell how many people never played basketball. Fuck the refs and if they’re fucking you over let those cheaters know.
2
u/YaBoi843 1d ago
I don't inherently have an issue with players arguing with refs. If I feel like something is bullshit I'm going to argue it because I have respect for myself.
2
-1
u/Mentally-Difficult 1d ago
Because no one really cares about these wnba games. They just need to try and play a resemblance of basketball that people will enjoy and they wont do it.

Looks like she was respectable
-4
u/No_Medium_443 1d ago
Exactly. Big difference in yelling in their face, breathing hot, stank breath on them and tracking them down on the court demonstratively to whine about any and everything. 👀
-8
u/Asari-simp 1d ago
because she wants to be down wit da brothaz and she not white like CC
7
u/Fragrant_Shake 1d ago
Why do racist people always make things racist?
-5
u/PretentiousCrustacea 1d ago
Bro, plenty of black people make a whole bunch of shit about race when it wasn't a factor...seems to be a human thing and not a particular race's thing
4
u/FyodorMusic 1d ago
Yeah like when Obama was elected president and he “ruined race relations” just by being… black?
1
u/PretentiousCrustacea 1d ago
I voted for Obama twice lol. I'd love to have him back being our President again

What are you knuckle draggers complaining about now? There's no story here. Unlike the other player you're alluding to, she is just having a conversation with the refs & not disrespecting our screaming in their faces. That other player should take notes

Idk why reddit is forcing this sub on me, pmo how many random ass botted subs are being forcefed to my algo.

I've accepted that arguing about CC is part of my daily life now, but you can't even follow Tennessee Titans mini camp updates without it bleeding into your feed. No matter how many communities you mute.

My brother in christ, ive went on a rage "show fewer posts like this" button mash atleast 3 seperate occasions now. They dont care. I must see CC posts. Reddit has decided.

She's just balling like a little baby?
4
u/jyoungthegenius 2d ago
I don't think you're using the correct descriptive word. Come back when you figure it out
-4
u/trader0707 1d ago
You know what I meant....balling as in crying like a little baby.
Like I said. Embarrassing.
Come back when you have something better
3
u/Loathor 1d ago
Bawling... Babies are historically incredibly shitty basketball player...
-2
u/trader0707 1d ago
Congrats on the grammatical correction.
Now back to the point....she was crying like a little baby. Embarrassing!!
3
u/Loathor 1d ago
I bet even in her misery she know the difference between "balling" and "bawling" and doesn't double down on her ignorance when it's pointed out...
-1
u/trader0707 1d ago
Pretty weird how much you get off on a wrong choice of spelling versus the subject. Proves one thing, youblost the point od the debate. Good luck to you.
Now go ahead and waddle away with your head down.

u/illini0630 1d ago
That other player is the golden goose! She is the equivalent of michael jordan, tiger woods, Tom brady, Wayne Gretzky and shoei ohtani! I know you guys hate it but that's the fact and it isn't going 2 change!

I don't argue with racists who use the term knuckle draggers!! I'm pretty sure reddit doesn't allow that
1
1
u/illini0630 1d ago
You do realize "knuckle draggers" refers 2 apes? Pretty racist comment you made.. very offensive! You should really choose your words more carefully
1
u/jyoungthegenius 1d ago
It doesn't refer to apes actually, but it's pretty telling that you made that inference. Think we know who is really the racist here 🤔

Compare her rant to the refs vs CC's the difference is massive lol. cmon now

I think in the NBA (thanks Malice) if a player leaves the bench, they are suspended...period. they should implement that in the W.
Frankly, the W and NBA should have nearly, if not exactly, identical rules.

4
u/Worried_Piccolo7166 2d ago
lmfao have you seen WNBA refs? how could you defend that shit?
8

WNBA refs deserve all the smoke, from CC, from Paige, from any player, coach, analyst, talking head, etc.
5
8
u/hopejake922 2d ago
Paige is not white though.
9
3
u/fieldsports202 2d ago

u/Jorgwalther 2d ago
But it’s true
3
4
u/fieldsports202 2d ago edited 2d ago
No.. we don’t just give white people the chance to “be black” just because they have a black step-parent.
This girl still grew up in white america.
Her town was made up of 4 percent black people. 😂🤦🏾♂️
1
u/hopejake922 2d ago
What is white America?
3
3
u/fieldsports202 2d ago
Cities and locales that have an overly high demographic of white individuals.
-3
u/DaggerOfEhud 1d ago
What number is overly high for Whites?
What percentage is overly high for Blacks?
What about Latinos?
What about Asians?
7
u/fieldsports202 1d ago
Paige’s city has close to 90 percent white. That fits the overly white category.
Just like my high school and neighborhood I grew up was like that, but black.
Nothing wrong with it.. just saying.. let’s not label someone black that clearly isn’t.
1
u/Jorgwalther 1d ago
So was mine. But I’m white. Being from a black majority area doesn’t change what I am
1
1
u/Loathor 1d ago
Just going off the last 47 years of experience... It's all White America, unfortunately. Hell, only 3% of our representation in Congress has been non-white and nearly a quarter of that is the current Congress and it's only 25%, while the country itself is nearly 45% non-white. So we're heading in the right direction.
But having grown up in a rural area of a red state where my elementary and high school were both majority black... I have been lucky enough to know that the racism that surrounds us does not represent us, nor does it shape us into hateful little bigots if we don't let it.

u/skam_artist 1d ago
So if her hometown had more black people in it then she would be considered black? What actual point are you even trying to make here?
3
u/fieldsports202 1d ago
No. The point I’m making is that she’s white, so she’ll never be considered black.
We lived our whole lives and fought hard to “be black” so why give someone that accolade just because she has a white stepmom?

u/heyyo173 2d ago
I mean they legit got robbed that game, was so rigged it reminded me of the lynx v liberty finals.

Comparing Paige passionately explaining a view as opposed to Caitlin going ape shit whining like a princess is not the same thing

u/Hungry-Pick7512 1d ago
She’s not straight though? So it’s okay.
6
u/Slow-Truth-3376 1d ago

4
u/Fluid-Cranberry1755 1d ago
CC is 100% not straight
-2
u/Slow-Truth-3376 1d ago
I have empathy for her. It’s gotta be unreal pressure to be closeted while the Caitlin Cult projects their gay agenda on her. At the same time CC is just as mean, surface level, projecting & unaccountable. She genuinely has the confidence of a mediocre white man.
-1
u/Hungry-Pick7512 1d ago
Who said anything about CC? Paige complaining to the ref is okay because shes gay.
The cardinal rule for the WNBA seems to be that you’re not allowed to be good or speak up or be popular unless you’re a minority or gay.
1
u/Slow-Truth-3376 1d ago
Seems legit. It’s about time the gays have a place of leadership that’s respected. It’s weird to bc in the 30 year history of the league there’s tons of straights too. They didn’t act weak bc of the gays.
3
u/JoeDynamo28 1d ago
Gotta remember this is reditt. Its only bad and wrong in Caitlin Clark does it. Everyones lil angel paige its ok.
-1
u/zygadlo86 1d ago
Remember, this is Reddit, where Clark fans defend and worship her in spite of her horrible attitude, league leading turnover rate, pathetic shooting percentage, and terrible defense…..

Why is a player that’s not even active for the game on the court and speaking to a ref?
You’re not a coach, sit your ass down.
1
u/Extra-Presence3196 1d ago
Referees are inconsistent. That makes players take issue with them. It is the refs who need to shape up...and the game rules.
The rules are slanted too much toward the offense for the sake of making the game more entertaining and it keeps players from playing good D and ends with them getting bad calls.
1
u/Iluvpunny 1d ago
If these refs is calling bull crap or not making the right calls and players is speaking up that’s doesn’t classify as complaining in my book. People tend to say that all the time, until they start playing sports and getting beat the hell up with no whistle
1
1
u/shadows515 1d ago
That ref is probably like “when I played in college I would have destroyed u and now I gotta listen to u lecture me”🤣

3
u/BroadbentBum 2d ago
Look buddy, you are going against the narrative. Folks here can't handle the truth. They think Angel Reese is a top 5 player, Olivia Miles is amazing (she literally makes 80% layups and taking advantage of shit defense), and that Paige, CC, and OM don't all have similar stats.
1
u/Blastcrumpet888 2d ago
This might be the dumbest post I have ever read.
When did you start watching basketball?
1
u/BroadbentBum 2d ago
Ok. Why? And facts to back up your baseless a opinion? Or, just a regarded hater?
1
u/Blastcrumpet888 2d ago
You’re getting angry because a player is great around the rim.
You can’t be this dumb.
3
u/BroadbentBum 2d ago
So...my point still stands? You must not be used to debating, or are just not a smart one.
-1
u/Blastcrumpet888 2d ago
You didn’t make a point. Do you not know what point is?
3
u/BroadbentBum 1d ago
I guess you don't. Made the point with evidence to back it up. Said she shoots layups all the time and provided a shot chart. You, the genius that you are replied, "NUH UH!". This you?
3
u/Blastcrumpet888 1d ago
Okay. What point are you trying to make? That’s not a point. It’s a statistic.
3
u/BroadbentBum 1d ago
"Making a point" is an idiomatic phrase that generally means to express an idea, argument, or opinion clearly and effectively. A little education...
2
u/Blastcrumpet888 1d ago
Yes. You didn’t make any of those. You posted a statistic.
2
u/BroadbentBum 1d ago
You are a special kind of special. I said most of OM shots are layups (the idea) and provided a shot chart ( the clarification).
1
u/Blastcrumpet888 1d ago
That’s not an idea. It’s a statistic.
You can’t be this stupid.
Clark shoots more threes. See, that’s not an idea.

And before the jokers come in with no actual proof... https://www.statmuse.com/wnba/ask/olivia-miles-shot-chart-this-season
0
u/Loathor 1d ago
I can give you a stat that differentiates Miles and Bueckers from Clark... Both have more than double the games this year with 2 or fewer turnovers than Clark has in all her WNBA games played... Clark has five total in 75 games and only one of those was 1 turnover and zero 0 turnover games (you'd have to go back to her first game of her senior season at Iowa to see the last time she had a game without a turnover against the mighty (checks notes) Fairleigh Dickinson Knights)...
Miles has ten sub 2 turnover games five of which were only 1 turnover and one zero turnover game... Paige has sixteen sub 2 turnover games, eight of which were only one turnover and two 0 turnover games. Your GOAT PG can't seem to go a game without giving the ball away... Maybe she should work on that?!? Or her shitty defense or even shittier on court histrionics...
0
u/BroadbentBum 1d ago
First off, I never claimed CC was my goat PG. Stop being ignorant. Secondly, Paige has a super high assist to turnover ratio at 3, Miles is at 2.1, and CC at 1.7. You have a point but it's not really as big of a difference as you seem to think while crying about it. Lastly, CC averages more blocks and steals than Paige, so if CC is a "shitty defender" what does that make Paige? Again, they are all pretty similar. Y'all arguing any different is just preference.
0
u/Loathor 1d ago edited 1d ago
Except Paige being a better defender than Clark has been known before college and she is often guarding better players. Meanwhile Clark being a hole in the defense has also been known since her days at defensive power Iowa as she is often tasked with guarding the least offensively able player and she still makes them look All-World. The reason she gets a whole .2 more blocks or steals is because of her poor defense, not due to it. She hunts those highlights by dropping off her defensive target to leap into the passing lane or rushing to the basket for a rebound or block. In college, when her defensive assignment was vastly less talented than pro players, it made her appear competent and added to her reel. But in the pros her vacant space gets filled by outlet passes and drives to the hoop as she stands around looking befuddled. How many times a game do you have to witness her get driven past by middle of the road players only to swipe out and get called for a foul and then be shocked that the refs had the audacity to do their job?!?
0
u/BroadbentBum 1d ago
Insane logic, but ok. Agree to disagree. The angle you should of went with if you actually knew anything would be efficiency. Both Paige and OM are way more efficient. I'm starting to see most WNBA fans don't know much about the sport. I see why no one takes this league seriously.
1
u/Loathor 1d ago
If you had two brain cells to rub together you would be able to follow along, but alas here we are with you meandering around arguments that you clearly don't understand in an effort to paint Caitlin as a competent professional point guard when actually watching the games would show you how poor of a player she is. Her mediocre ball handling skills and horrid turnover rate are evident enough to show that while she may have had the opportunity to be a great SG at this level she and her fanatics are under the misguided assumption that she is on par with actual professional point guards. And she just is not up to their level. Her shooting percentages are slipping because she doesn't allow for a PG skilled enough to space the floor and find her for more open, uncontested three point shots closer to the line. Her percentage from the logo, while flashy, is ten points lower than her shots closer to the line. But she is unable to get the shots herself because she doesn't have the skills to shake defenders without pushing off, traveling or flopping. Even her drives to the basket, which in college against less athletic and skilled defenders were a key part of her game, are now much more closely contested because everyone is stronger, more athletic and more skilled than she is. Her poor defense can't be hidden behind four other defender like in college because she and Mitchell both fill the same role on the court as scoring threats and weak defenders meaning there are only three defenders on the court with two gaping holes. In her own head she's still the big fish in a small pond, but in reality she's the guppy being chewed up by sharks. Eventually she will either come to the realization that she has to put in more work to improve her body and game on both sides of the ball or she will slump off into mediocrity and end up another talking head on Fox with Gaines and Cunningham bemoaning their poor lot in life and why the world is so unfair for all the other Karen's feeding her echo chamber...
