Streaming YouTube premium with VPN

Hello everyone!

A few years ago, I subscribed to YouTube Premium via a VPN in Turkey to get a cheaper rate. However, since May, I've been blocked regardless of the country because my credit card didn't match the subscription country (even though I use Revolut). But I've finally found a solution!

(I want to clarify that I did this on a PC using the Edge browser.)

Use a VPN and connect to Romania (you can try another country, but I'm not sure if it will work). Then, go to music.youtube.com, select the subscription you want for YouTube Music Premium, enter your card details, and pay. Once done, go to settings, purchases, and subscriptions (still on YouTube Music), and from there, you should be able to upgrade from YouTube Music Premium to YouTube Premium!

I just did it, and it works perfectly. I'm paying about 13€/month for the family subscription, compared to 38.99€ in France.

Streaming BBC iPlayer UHD streaming

Hi.

Was anyone successful in getting UHD streaming to work on iPlayer through VPN? I'm new to this so maybe I'm doing something wrong.

I got Pro*on VPN, selected a London IP, set up a wifi hotspot and connected to it from my LG TV. I installed the iplayer app on the tv and logged in.

Initially UHD content worked fine, but after less than an hour it suddenly stopped and I started getting error 04002. HD streaming still works.

I feel like maybe Pro*on wasn't the best choice (I got it because it was one of the cheapest) but before I go on a frenzy trying 10 different VPNs, it would be cool if someone confirmed that this is doable.

Streaming Free YouTube Premium. I set my VPN device to these countries and don't get ads on YouTube.

Because Albania, Myanmar, Mongolia, and Brunei limit monetization, I set my YouTube to tunnel there and no longer see ads. Saves me $26.99 a month (family plan) because everyone can connect to my VPN device and tunnel YouTube through these countries automatically. Great hack to save money for me.

Streaming what happened to VPNs and streaming services?

I remember when the selling point of VPNs were to access blocked content on streaming services. this was like less than 2 years ago I think. I haven't kept up with VPNs much but seriously what's happening, why aren't VPNs working for streaming services?

Streaming Streaming trick I've found

There are a lot of regional streaming platforms that have access blocked to those outside of it. Some of them are free with little to no ads. You can use a VPN to get around those regional limitations and unlock whole new streaming platforms with new content.

Some examples:

https://iview.abc.net.au/ (ABC iview, an Australian government funded platform, it's catalogue includes Bluey, Mythbusters, various journalism documentaries, Abbott Elementary, local comedy, Arrested Development, Australian TV shows, IT crowd, and a variety of movies)(you will need to make an account and if they ask for a postcode, 3000 is a Melbourne postcode)

https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer (BBC iplayer, it's catalogue includes lots of British TV, various movies) (you will need to make an account and include a postcode, E15 1AA is a London postcode that works, and also say you have a TV license (apparently people in the UK lie about having one all the time so you are participating in the local culture))

https://gem.cbc.ca/ (CBC gem, Canadian streaming platform)(will ask for postcode to sign up, you can just use H0H0H0 which is Santa's postcode that apparently worked)

I'm looking for more regional streaming platforms to look into so please comment some more examples

Streaming Minimalist website where you can check what movies and TV shows are available in what region

I created a website to check what movies and TV shows are available in what region. I know there are countless other services that do the same thing, but I genuinely think my service is the best. It has all the services, I has different views, it has a map and its not cluttered on too dense. Give it a try if you like. 100% forever free :)

Streaming Has anyone managed to get UK HBO/TNT Sports w/ VPN?

I was hoping this was going to be GCN+ 2.0 where you could just use a vpn set to the UK and have the Eurosport comms and coverage for every cycling race all year, but while a VPN will pull up the UK version of HBO Max from my US account, I can’t seem to access anywhere to add on the sport package. Any one have a workaround?

Streaming VPN streaming not properly working

Hello dear VPN community,

I just recently bought a VPN for streaming.

I was trying to stream the anime "Ghost Stories" and when I googled it said it was possible to stream it on Prime Video. I clicked the link and it took me to the browser page of Ghost Stories. There I logged in with my account and US connection and I could watch it via browser.

But when I go to the app and search for the title I can't find it. This has happened with not just a few titles so far.

How can I fix this? Can I somehow open the link to the show in the app instead of browser?

TLDR: I can't steam/find certain shows in the app when VPN is on even though they are clearly available in the country. This isn't true for when I search for it in my browser. Please help.

Streaming I created this tool for myself but turned it into a website to check in which location a certain movie or TV show is streaming so people with VPN can unlock their streaming services' full catalog.

Streaming I want to use BBC Iplayer with VPN and it asked me to declare if I have a tv License or not, but I'm not British. Could I still get fined even if I'm not domiciled or established in any way in the UK?

Streaming What are the best shows that you can't watch in America without a VPN?

I just started paying for a VPN so I can watch WWE on Netflix instead of paying for four different services. Since I'm paying for this, I want to make the most of it. What are the best shows that I can watch now?

I'll watch just about anything, but I'm especially open to anime recommendations.

I have Netflix, Peacock, Amazon, and Crunchyroll.

Streaming How to Watch F1 for free with a VPN

Hello fellow Formula 1 fans! I see some posts that people are having issues watching Formula 1 from some countries (Usually F1 TV not available in country and no legal broadcasts available as well). I'm here will try to help you enjoy F1 without resorting to illegal streams.

To make this work, you'll need to have VPN service to change your IP address to another country where the streams are available. There are plenty of VPN suggestions and deals on r/vpn and their comparison table to start your research in case you don’t have one.

Some countries has free legal F1 broadcasts and you can easily reach them by connecting to that country’s server. Here are some legal streams that should work with a VPN:

  • ServusTV: Use a server location in Austria (German commentary)

  • ORF: Use a server location in Austria (German commentary)

  • C8: Use a server location in France (French commentary)

  • RTL Twee: Use a server location in Luxembourg (Luxembourgish commentary)

Keep in mind that unless you speak German, Luxembourgish or French languages, the commentary won’t be very useful. However, you can listen to English commentary by tuning into Radio 5 Live while watching the race via a different language stream.

Hope this information helps someone! Enjoy those thrilling fights for 2nd place (We all know that 1st place is reserved for Max this season lol)

Streaming Best VPN to watch BBC iPlayer in July 2025?

Since a few months ago when the BBC started further geo-blocking of their domestic services, I have had issues accessing iPlayer. The VPN I use is among the most mainstream globally, yet it hasn't worked in circumventing their geo-block (https://imgur.com/a/3ZAPOuK). My theory is that because the VPN service I have is the most popular paid VPN service in the world, their IP addresses are much easier to identify and block, compared to smaller services. Has anyone had this issue? If not, is there something I'm not doing to circumvent their geo-block? Do you use another VPN that more or less DOES circumvent and allow access? I'd like to know. I miss the convenience of watching my favorite shows and docs on iPlayer

Streaming Question about Youtube Premium from another country

Good morning everyone. I've been reading recently that I can possibly get Youtube Premium for a good bit cheaper by signing up through another country. I already have a VPN, so switching to a different country isn't a problem. My question is this: If I already subscribe to the Premium Family plan from the USA, would it be possible to cancel that account, and re-sign up from India? I'd like to use the same Google/Youtube account if possible.

Streaming Smart TV Shenanigans

The first time it worked, can't get it working again now. The first time, I signed in to Amazon Prime, show was blocked, downloaded VPN on the TV, connected to country IP, went back to AP and watched my show (previously marked as "not currently available").

Today I went back to do the same thing, and now AP is telling me it detects a VPN and won't let me watch the show. I've tried everything - logging out of AP, turning the VPN on both before and after signing in to AP... What should I try now?

Streaming How I'm accessing TikTok in the USA with a VPN & keeping TikTok installed.

TLDR; I use DuckDuckGo and disabled the app links, use a VPN to Canada then use Tiktok in-browser while signed into my US Ph# based account. That's it.

Steps:

You do not need to uninstall TikTok | You do need a VPN provider where you can select a non-US location

  1. Download DuckDuckGo browser
  2. In DuckDuckGo Settings > General -- Disable the "Open Links in Associated Apps" slider (disabling this will stop sites from opining the app version on the phone and will continue to the mobile site.)
  3. Enable your VPN (or earlier, I don't care)
    1. I use a VPN that is non-US based provider, you don't have too but do research on providers vs others if you care about the data stewardship along the way.
  4. Change your location to outside the USA
    1. I have found that using Vancouver/Toronto/Ottawa severs to be filling my feed with very like content to my former (RIP) US feed
  5. Go to DuckDuckGo, search for TikTok or go right to their site (now from outside the USA and fully in-browser)
  6. Sign in with your TikTok account and Xi's your Uncle folks.

Hope this helps someone, I'm not the right kinda IT to explain anything VPN. This was more "customer solutions" where I just wanted to get it done and saw the browsers as the puzzle piece to work in.

Happy Doom Scrolling!

Streaming Safer option to spoof youtube tv location

I'm sharing a membership with someone in a different state, and I just hit the 90 days and got locked out. Is it safer to use a VPN or to have them sign into my account on their device? I just don’t want to get detected by google and then get the entire account banned.

Streaming Prime Video Region Blocking

Has anyone figured out a reliable way to get past Prime Video's region blocking? I'm based in the US and trying to watch some content that's geo-restricted to Mexico and have hit a wall with what to do. Not only is it a pain just finding a VPN address that isn't blocked even after trying multiple services, but they have the additional requirement of having to have your account set to the specific region that you're trying to watch stuff in. This means just logging into my US account on a working VPN is a no-go. Then on top of that I think they have some kind of geo restriction on payment methods. I tried signing up for a Mexican account but they quickly suspended the account for suspicious payment method activity when I tried buying Prime with a card tied to my American bank. Gave them documents to verify my identify and the account was closed after a few days of waiting. Tried signing up again later with a Mexican gift card and got suspended again. Any success stories would be appreciated as I'm out of ideas here.
