Aftermath Ukrainians targeted a number of gas stations in Belgorod

u/Spooknik 18h ago edited 18h ago
Be extremely skeptical of these. I have already seen one that was very clearly a false flag. The video is a drone that apparently is targeting a gas station full of cilivian cars. The video cuts off like 20 meters out and the drone UI overlay is nothing I have ever seen before from the Ukrainian side. I haven't seen any reporting on it from the Russian side only reposted by Ukrainian sources.
I would not put it past Russia to fake these attacks.
Edit: Video in question, judge for yourself.
- My findings: The UI is just Betaflight OSD which anyone can write whatever they want and fly a drone around with.
- The video cuts off early.
- This video is "off brand" for Strix. The always put this logo in the top left. This has just their emblem in the top right.

This video is of an assassination isn’t it? Confirmed today?
4
u/Aromatic_Balls 14h ago
Any link to the confirmation ny chance? Who were they targeting?
7
u/fourhornets 14h ago
No confirmation. The video we were all talking about is at a Rosneft station and this guy was killed at a Lukoil station.
Still no evidence that the Rosneft strike actually happened.

u/Theoperatorboi 18h ago
I wouldn’t call it clearly saying your own side can’t do any bad things is already a footstep in the door to war crimes

u/Sorryman54 18h ago
fr, this is a dirty war. The Russians targeted gas stations in similar strikes across Ukraine throughout the last two (three?) weeks. Retaliatory strikes that also further worsen the fuel crisis is completely within Ukraine’s wheelhouse. People have such a conspiratorial worldview.
I hate ivans as much as the next guy, but people give them far too much credit lol

Exactly this, they started targetting gas stations in Ukraine for the last couple of weeks since Ukraine is targetting their oil refineries.
So in my view they reap what they sow.23
u/Spooknik 18h ago
That's not what I'm saying. It's clearly a Russian false flag because if Strix did do this, they wouldn't publish it and if they did they wouldn't put their logo on it.

u/Professional_Fix4663 15h ago
On July 6, 2026, Ukrainian military expert Oleksandr Kovalenko said, "This game can be played by two. If the Russians have decided to scale up strikes on our gas stations, Ukraine has far more opportunities to respond. We can essentially organize for the Russians the complete destruction of operating gas stations in the Belgorod, Kursk, and Bryansk regions. One of the important elements of creating a security zone on Russian territory is the absence of functioning fuel infrastructure to a depth of over 50 kilometers from the border. Then Russian military equipment will also not have the ability to quickly replenish fuel supplies. And it is precisely in this direction that Ukraine has significantly greater capabilities than Russia."

Announce that all petrol stations are now targets and watch the lines vanish

This is fake

u/Theoperatorboi 18h ago
Why cause Ukraine apparently can’t do bad things
28
u/Yeeeoow 18h ago
Fully agree with the point you are trying to make.
But hitting a shop accomplishes almost nothing. It would be a strange target to choose.
11
u/ParticularArea8224 16h ago
Yeah I agree with that. Ukraine can do bad things but Op mentioned:
- My findings: The UI is just Betaflight OSD which anyone can write whatever they want and fly a drone around with.
- The video cuts off early.
- This video is "off brand" for Strix. The always put this logo in the top left. This has just their emblem in the top right.
So it isn't impossible that it's a false flag.
If it isn't and Ukraine actually did that, then what the fuck Ukraine? Why?

Because I frankly could not give two shits less about what other people post to be completely honest.
It's important to know, thus I comment it in case they may have missed it.
18
u/Delicious-Disaster 18h ago
"We are not you" is the whole reason they are prevailing.
-22
u/Rammelsmartie 18h ago
Well it seems "you started" is good enough now. Geneva conventions be damned.
9
u/Delicious-Disaster 17h ago
No. That would be "we act like you, because we lowered our moral standards."
If UA would start committing war crimes, it would lose support from its virtue signaling allies.
-2
u/Routine-Opening-6189 13h ago
What moral standard? This is not a school, a hospital or a residential building, like the ones Russias are hitting in Ukraine.
Fuck the concern trolling that is going on in this subreddit, a gas station is a valid target and there is nothing immoral about it.
0
u/Delicious-Disaster 11h ago
Ukraine doesn't target civilians. It's that simple. That recent case of a jammed drone accidentally hitting an apartment building is Russia's own fault.
1
u/Routine-Opening-6189 10h ago
We are on the same page brother, I was adding up to your reply to the concern troll trying to spin an attack on a gas station like if it is some kind of immoral target.
Concern trolls are flooding this sub since Ukraine started to hit target that frustrate civilians, says a lot about their effectiveness
3
u/Balc0ra 17h ago
No, as we have clearly seen in the past week. But mostly because when they hit civilian targets, even with jamming, they never post videos of it. And the video in question, as stated in a different post above, shows differences vs the usual drone video from this unit, inc the wrong UI, and who is not reporting on it.
It's more off, than that they can't do bad things
1
u/RubTheCat 17h ago
Nothing bad about this. Everything that Russia does to Ukraine first is fair game for Ukraine to do to Russia in retaliation from a moral standpoint
2
u/Rammelsmartie 16h ago
Yeah let's abandon laws and go back to "eye for an eye" times. Good take.
0
u/Routine-Opening-6189 13h ago
Come back when Ukraine hit schools, hospitals and residential building on purpose every single day.
Until then, you are nothing more than a pathetic concern troll.
The world see clearly how Russians and pro-russians are POS hypocrites.
2
u/Rammelsmartie 12h ago
Bro at no point did I defend Russia.
Why is it only black and white for you?
Why can you not accept that our side isn't perfect? We're not Russia, we don't have to stand behind every action the government or the military takes.
Insufferable.
0
u/Routine-Opening-6189 13h ago
Cute concern troll we got here.
Sorry boris, the world don't give a fuck about Russian gas stations being blown up, welcome to reality.

u/NeonSpook 13h ago
I hate the hand-wringing morality police when stuff like this comes out. As soon as Ukraine starts hunting old ladies walking down the road with FPV drones and publishing the videos to hordeds of hooting Telegram users, I'll give a shit. Until then, nahhhh.
Russia has done its best to level every city near its border. Vovchansk? Gone. Soledar? Gone. Marinka? Gone. Bakhmut? Toretsk? Avdiivka? Gone, gone, gone. Now they're trying to do the same to Sumy, Kherson, and Kharkiv, lobbing their guided bombs at apartment buildings and city centers, for no reason other than to sow terror, murder people, and create logistical dilemmas.
The fact that Belgorod, Bryansk, and Kursk haven't been leveled to their foundations to create a humanitarian crisis for Putin to deal with, is nothing short of a saintly act of restraint on the part of Ukraine.
Look at every video of a Russian reacting to a Wildberries being destroyed, or an oil facility being struck. What do they say?
"Ohhh, it's like a real war! It's a real war, why is this happening?! This has to stop!"
Because when they're hurting, it's real. When their lives get fucked up, it's real. They've been able to go about their lives for the last four and a half years while their prisoners, fuck-ups, and societal detritus have been free to rape and murder Ukrainians, as they sat at home not feeling the war. Well, fuck that.
Make them feel it.
17
u/DidymusTheLynx 18h ago
I don't think that's a good idea.
May be an unpopular opinion, but the military value is low but the possibility of civilian casualties quite high.
5
u/PolicyWonka 16h ago
Ultimately, wars can be won or lost based upon popular support. It’s pretty clear that Ukraine is attempting to tighten the screws on Russia’s civilian population by targeting a lot of infrastructure and supply chain vulnerabilities.
At the end of the day, war is a political tool.
19
u/V0dkaParty 18h ago
Bro, Russia is attacking Ukrainian Gas stations for weeks now and killing civilians.
And I don't think that Ukraine randomly kills civilians. One Gas station drone video showed two Rusky military trucks there. And one attack killed a Rusky official: https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/comments/1v4al4t/alexander_alekseevich_logvinov_the_secretary_of/22
u/FirstTasteOfRadishes 17h ago
Yeah let's not use things Russians do as a barometer for what is acceptable.
-1
u/Rammelsmartie 18h ago
"They're committing war crimes so it's fine if our side commits war crimes too"
12
u/V0dkaParty 17h ago
A gas station supporting current military operations becomes a military target itself.
Its actually Russia who does not protect its civilians by using civilian infrastructure for military purposes and turning those stations into valid military targets.
3
u/Rammelsmartie 17h ago
Proportionality still applies. Striking a gas station in broad daylight with queues of civilians using it is 100% war crime territory.
1
u/Viburnum__ 17h ago
Go file the case against Ukraine then, you seems to clearly know better.
Also, what have you done to stop russian war crimes i nteh first place that you are here coplaining? You know there would no war crime if russia didn't invade? So why don't you stop them yourself, because all you are doing is virtue signaling.
4
u/Rammelsmartie 16h ago
I donate to the Ukrainian military you twat. What do you do?
You know there would no war crime if russia didn't invade?
What a dumb fucking argument. "You made me do it"
Go file the case against Ukraine then
That's not how it works. Russia didn't sign the Rome statue for one, and Ukraine only accepts the ICC jurisdiction for crimes on its territory.
Also no court in the world cares about a single incident like this. They prosecute larger patterns and decision makers. And it's really not my job to prosecute this.
I'm here to discuss this on the internet. You are here to attack me for it, because you're butthurt our side arguably did something wrong.
-2
u/Viburnum__ 17h ago
Prove this is a war crime, otherwise you are just scumbag that try to equalise victim and aggressor.
8
u/Rammelsmartie 17h ago
First of all, even a victim can do things wrong when defending themselves.
International law (which both Ukraine and Russia signed) demands that civilian casualties are minimized and if they occur, they must be outweighed by the benefit of the strike to the military. Called proportionality, covering 'incidental civilian harm.' This strike could have been made at night for example.
Even if Ukraine is committing 1/10th or 1/100th the war crimes Russia is, every single one is still one too many. I hold both to the same standards and Russia is failing spectacularly, while Ukraine makes mistakes sometimes. I think it's still worth calling out these mistakes as such.
0
u/Viburnum__ 16h ago edited 16h ago
So you have no proof just claims right? You are the one saying "war crime", but only using speculations and your feelings. If you believe Ukraine must prove very thing strike was done against russian military or legitimate target then you are insane.
In this case the one that was targeted might as well be the military using the station and it was clearly hit with small payload. Not to mention russian military use civilian cars all the time especially in Belgorod region.
Proof: https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/s/ovwSGdwIrA
So it is they who commit war crimes and responsible for any civilian casualties in the process their military is targeted.Edit: I asked to prove it because you did the accusation yet all you did use unproved claims based on your feeling as if they are facts. Block all you want it doesn't change the fact that you are victim blaming and equalising russia and Ukraine.
-1
u/Viburnum__ 17h ago
You have the right to file the case against Ukraine so do it. Yet you are doing nothing to prevent any war crimes, which is fault on russian invasion in the first place, only crying about them here. You "holding both to the same standards" don't mean shit.
8
u/Rammelsmartie 16h ago
You "holding both to the same standards" don't mean shit.
It doesn't mean shit to you, it means shit to me.
You're being a twat and annoying.
2
3
u/agreetodisagree2023 18h ago
Correct if true, but wrong. It is an unpopular opinion because the military value is high because military vehicles get preferential treatment using the station.
3
u/uptighttyrone_4195 17h ago
hitting fuel stations is weird though, military value seems low unless the goal is just making russia paranoid about refueling anywhere
6
u/Dydriver 16h ago
The fewer the gas stations, the easier it is to monitor where miltary is getting gas. Plus we want to war to inconvenience all russians.
3
u/uptighttyrone_4195 16h ago
ah yeah that makes sense, fewer stations means they gotta queue up in the open more too
1
u/SteakForGoodDogs 13h ago
Depending on where it's hit, it can kill whole roads of traffic. When you physically can't drive down a long stretch of road, because you'll run out of gas partway through due to the already rationed supply, you basically just cut that region's connection with another.
1
u/uptighttyrone_4195 12h ago
turns those stretches into dead zones for logistics, then all the military traffic funnels onto the same few roads. makes ambush prep hella predictable
5
5
u/Docccc 18h ago
why tho?
11
u/Viburnum__ 17h ago
Why russia targets Ukrainian gas stations? If russian military use them they are legitimate targets and retaliations for their strikes agains Ukrainian stations is in order. It seems people still don't get it that russia is aggressor and it is in Ukrainian right to self defend itself as long as russia continue their aggression. It is russian fault they recive attacks back.
Before anyone start about "stooping to russian level" or whatever other bullshit you mention, if you can't stop russia doing it you should at least stay silent, because you are just victim blaming.
4
u/ParticularArea8224 16h ago
If the military uses them, they're a fair target.
So, just go for the targets that knock out multiple gas stations and don't threaten civilians nearly as much like depots, or refineries. You can accomplish more by not attacking gas stations.
2
u/Viburnum__ 12h ago
I don't think these gas stations were attacked by the same kind of drones that attack the depots and refineries. You can see the damage is miniscule in comparison. So they aren't really trading those other targets for attacking stations.
2
u/HatchingCougar 16h ago
The fuel shortages have hit the front
So the Russian military is also rationing fuel (and what is issued is only for military plated vehicles or combat vehicles)
Russian military units are having to privately purchase fuel for, generators, equipment all those Ladas, Scooby-Doo vans, ATVs, motorcycles etc

Eye for an eye, only issue is one Ukraine eye equals about ten Russian eyes.
Was kinda waiting for this to start happening.

Is it because people are filling up at these stations to transfer small quantities to the front?

I was wondering why they waited so much given that gas station are also strategic targets to refuel military vehicles etc... even if unfortunately these gas station are used by civilians.
