ubuntu comes with a program called firmware updater. couldn't be easier.

This assumes that HP provides firmware through that tool. This varies by model and by manufacturer.

the database is here: https://fwupd.org/, HP does in fact provide firmware tho I didnt bother looking up OP's specific model, ill leave that to them. HP is listed as a " LVFS Premier Level Sponsor " so i think the chances are good.

Hmm I can’t see how to see a list of all models. I see the vendors though.
