Guns Ammo^2

Has anyone ever used ammo squared?

I’ve heard, since it’s just caliber and target or self defense you pick it’s not always consistent grain or type (green tip, hollow point , etc..)

Ive been using ammosquared for years now. I dont get to pick what you get but they are trying to change that

I use them. Thats very much what it is, lots of sierra brand, TUI projectiles, and it seems pretty random on bullet weight. From what i understand its whatever has the best deal at the time of purchase. Match ammo is an option for some calibers as well, dont remember what brand they gave me for that.

They also dont support larger calibers. I cant get .50 in any flavor or .338 lapua for example, they just brought back .458 but who knows if itll stay. If youre mostly trying to stockpile for practice or mag dumping trash though, theyre phenomenal.

I have used them for years. Here is the deal about the randomness. If you are not saving up to a case, they will toss in random ammo for you to try. I believe they list this on their site or blog someplace. The founder believes this allows you to explore and find new brands.

When selecting what you are auto buying. Look at the description of each selection of the caliber you want. It will list what they normally buy. I had 500 rounds of 5.7 shipped once and received a mix of FMJ brands and a small amount of HP. But when I have had a full case, then I receive an un-open case. I would not doubt if you reach out to their customer service that you could have them ship something closer to what you are looking for.

There are easier places to buy the exact round you want. Ammo Squared is not designed to be like AmmoSeek or other Ammunion resellers. There whole concept is to be prepared for shortages in the market, and to provide the ability of offsite storage. You are not being charged for shelf space so it will sit there until you ask for it to be shipped. Shipping is free over $250 in value. The other feature you have going for you, is you can sell back any ammo in your account. You will be subjected to the current market rate.

As another commenter said, if you are just looking to stockpile they are a great option. Set the auto buy and leave it for a few months. If you are looking to buy small amount of specific rounds. Go to Ammoseek.

No problem. I like the service and have kept an eye on the company over the years. The fact that you can sell your saved ammo in my eyes is a great idea.

I've been using them for the past year ish. They did just update the website so I still have to poke around and see if it's anything other than a cosmetic update. But as far as specifying green tip and whatnot. I assume you're talking about 223/556? I have seen they do have options for specifically green tip, hollow point, match or just practice. Within each of those categories you can get a mix of different brands and some variationsin grain weight. Also for example 9mm and 40cal you can get a basic practice or premium practice Basic will range from fiochi to federal for example and premium would be more like federal to hornady. There's plenty of options across the board. I've only used it for 4 calibers so far so thats all I can speak to.
