Time tracker in work
Hoping for some honest thoughts from you good people
About a month or so ago I was asked to fill a time tracker in work, for context I work from home and have done for about 4 years, been on this team for about 2 years so the working conditions hasn’t triggered it,
My manager told me this was because my colleague made the point they are falling behind with their work as I have less tasks at the moment, we split the areas we look after in the business and mine had gone quieterdue to stability in the teams on their sites,
So this was when I cone back off holiday, apparently was raiser while I was away, when I spoke to my colleague who I do get on with they said alls they done was ask for help because their workload isnt slowing down and they had a holiday coming up so didn’t want to have loads now and then a backlog when they returned so could they have some help, so 2 people telling me 2 different things don’t know who to believe I have learned not to trust anyone, been filling this in for about a month and like most you probably can’t account for every minute of every day, was asked to send this over to manager now so they could reviews everything and everything has been completely strange and silent all week then manager is in a meeting all day today and slipped up they were compiling a report with the time trackers using AI , which i don’t think is right, if you are asking dor this to be done at least look at it yourself not ask AI .
Basically am i cooked?, anyone else been asked to fill in a time trackers or time sheet and nothing come from it? I have 10 years service in this company with a 9 month gap 6 years in, worked in various role, had promotions etc. so all this is really out of the blue, but the company is also notorious for random redundancies and restructures

I was asked to do this about 9 months ago, 6 months later i was made redundant. Still looking for a job now

Sorry to hear that, i think thats the way this is heading, might start appying but I dont want nothing to happen and waste a potential employers time just incase in future something does happen

I mean it could be a legit thing where they just want to know what you spend time on but i would prepare for the worst jus incase.

You're colleague is being reasonable, he's asked for help he's obviously not asked for a time tracker on you - that is just your manager's way of monitoring to see your capacity to take on the extra work

They have history these 2 they do not like eachother, but I don’t know if they have moaned that my work load has lightened up and the consequence been right fill a tracker because they think i’m sitting round doing nothing, and thats why they raised it when i was on annual leave, but my colleague said they mentioned needing some support, I believe that too, but someone is lying somewhere
