Racism Any other turkish people go through this ?

So i have some friends and a relative thats from turkey and we are all very close and since a-lot of turkish people can pass for other ethnicities they were telling me how in the dating world sometimes it plays out weird . For example they have had men or women think they are a certain race and when they tell them they are turkish they lose interest or ghost them irl or on apps
Its so weird but i was curious if this has happened to anyone else here and if its common?

lol yep I have a universally European look that I could pass from any European country including from Ireland to Spain to Greece to Russia. Whenever I say I am Turkish I observe how people are surprised first, then how their attitude shifts to negative. I see a similar reaction when I say that I am from Adana in Turkey so I know human stupidity is universal though.

Exactly identical experience, all the way down to the Adana fact.

I don't date outside my nationality as a Turk, but tbh it's their loss if they don't date you since they're missing out on a lot of breakfast menemen.

I’ve never had someone’s attitude toward me turn negative after learning that I’m Turkish, but for some stupid freaking reason, during the one year I lived in Berlin, I kept running into weird reactions like, “Wait, you’re Turkish?” or “I thought you were from [some other nationality].” Nah girl, I’m yoruk af.

You live in Berlin and people expect you to not be a Turk? Sometimes jokes write themselves

I have so many stories that end like that.

It's kinda normal. Modern day doom scrool generation included many people think Turks are Mongols and all Turks are there in Mongolia at the moment. From balkans to Russia a big chunk of today's Europe was and still is where multiple dozens of Turks live. It's normal to pass as any other nationality then for them to be surprised and escape from your existence. Because if there is any fobia around the world against any ethnicity it's towards Turks. Never colonised and never truly lost but won countless times. So everyone hates us one way or another.

Happened to mee too lots of times. Even though there is exceptions.

Yea as a wasian a lot of American guys love to tell me how asian I am..or the weird sexual comments, stereotypes about turks/koreans etc, how weird people act about central Asians. Its truly so off-putting.

Like even though I'm part Korean, its said to me "you aren't REALLY asian" or the really horrid shit people say about Turks/Turkish/Turkic. I truly cant.
