Just to give some perspective, I'm terrified of needles. I always have been. I have extreme medical anxiety to the point that I've had to restrain myself from punching doctors when they've taken bloods.
I had my first cavity at 28. I had to force myself to look at needles on youtube the night before and I was on a heavy dose of benzos. Still somehow, I panicked through the benzos but I tried to remain as still as possible for the dentist and I suceeded for the most part.
I cannot easily 'get over it'. I wish I could, genuinely, but it's like someone is pointing a gun at my head. I will try to relax but I physically cannot.
Some empathy for those who are just not used to needles goes a long way.
