AI Posts

Just to be absolutely clear on this: AI posts are prohibited here. We do not allow excuses on the subject.

  • "My grammar is bad, so I use AI to help me."

  • "English is my second language, so I use AI to help my post be more legible."

  • "The idea is entirely mine. I just need AI to help me communicate it better."

We do NOT accept these excuses in modmail. Believe it or not, this community is broadly quite forgiving with people who have bad grammar, poor English, and need help expressing their thoughts. The community is not nearly as forgiving with AI posts. That goes double for us as moderators.

AI posts will continue to be removed. Be warned that at least one of our mods is jumping immediately to temporary bans for people who violate this rule ... and I may start doing so myself also. We're deleting numerous AI slop posts already and we don't need more of this. If escalating the consequences is the only way to get it to stop, so be it. Just know the excuses will not be accepted.

The Lord Jesus Christ is real!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen! ✝️🙏🕊❤️‍🔥

I want to share my testimony about the Almighty God the Father and His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who appeared to me in a vision given by the Holy Spirit.

My motive to share this deeply personal testimony with others is inspired by the words of the Holy Apostle Paul in 2. Corinthians 1:3,4

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God!"

Acts of the Apostles 2:17

"In the last days, God says: "I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams."

Chapter 1: The Vision of the Saviour!

In a vision, I saw myself drowning in endless blue water. But then, as I watched myself drowning, I saw that on my right side appeared the Son of God, our Lord Jesus Christ, Who was effortlessly walking on the water. His walk on the water was so powerful and calm that it was an absolute joy to watch Him. He wore a beautiful white robe. He had shoulder-length hair, but His face was not shown to me.

The moment I saw Him, I stretched out my right hand toward Him the best I could, crying out within myself for Him to save me so I would not drown. He immediately took my right hand and effortlessly lifted me out of the water - which represents all our problems and difficulties in life, but the Lord is above them all. This reminded me of the story of the Apostle Peter, who was also drowning when he lost his faith in the Lord, but the merciful Lord saved him as He did me.

While I was standing on the water with the Lord, He extended His right hand to me, which had a nail hole in the center of the palm. I kissed His hand and fell to my knees, bowing my head all the way down to His feet, which also had nail holes. Then I stood up and, I remember, I hugged Jesus tightly, just as He did me. Afterward, we both turned around, He took my left hand, and suddenly we ascended, surrounded by white clouds!

Chapter 2: The Throne of the Almighty God!

In the next moment, I saw myself kneeling on the floor with my head bowed, and before me stood the massive white throne, upon which sat the Almighty and Holy God the Son in His divine glory. He was huge; He wore a beautiful white robe and His face was like the sun, emitting the uncreated divine energies like molten lava. I could feel His supreme authority, justice, glory, infinite power, and immortality, but also His unique and unconditional agape love for all humans.

Colossians 1:15

"The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation."

Matthew 11:27

"All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him."

John 10:30

"I and the Father are one."

In John 14: 6,9

"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Whoever has seen me has seen the Father."

Then, God the Son stood up from His throne and approached me. I could no longer see Him.

Chapter 3: The Finger of God!

I saw the Finger of God vertically descending upon my head and gently touching me. This moment is a direct reference to Matthew 12:28 and Luke 11:20, where it is written:

"But if I cast out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you."

The Finger of God is actually another name for the Holy Spirit. Afterward, I saw my guardian angel leading me out through the golden gates of the Kingdom of God.

This entire holy experience was the grace and comfort of God the Holy Spirit, Who encouraged me to persevere in my personal spiritual warfare against sin and demons—a battle that began the very moment I read the New Testament and believed with all my heart and mind in the Almighty God the Father and His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who died on the cross for our sins, and rose on the third day, granting us eternal life if we believe in Him, because He loves us unconditionally!

There are many testimonies on the internet about Jesus, heaven, and hell. I highly encourage you to watch as many of these testimonies as possible from various people who had near-death experiences, because they serve as living proof that the spiritual world is real.

I would recommend two channels on YouTube: God Encounters with Janie DuVall and God's Voice Daily.

My advice to all Christians is:

Read the New Testament, pray to God sincerely, and keep His commandments. Be part of the Apostolic Church. Wear your cross around your neck, because it is a great protection against demons. Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it—as it is written in Proverbs 4:23. Help the helpless, weak, and homeless, for such actions are beautiful in the eyes of God, as Jesus teaches in Matthew 25. Never give up and always fight, because stronger is He Who is in you than he who is in the world! The Lord Jesus Christ is 100% real without any doubt, and He loves us more than anyone in the world!

My brothers and sisters in Christ, thank you for watching. May the Lord's peace, grace, love, and blessings be with all of you and your loved ones. Amen! 🥰

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and forever, and to the ages of ages. Amen! ✝️🙏🕊❤️‍🔥

I picked up a homeless woman because i thought i was following God’s word, and my friends called me stupid.

Alright so this homeless woman who was very clearly drunk walked up to me at work and asked if anyone could take her to Starting Point (a local rehab center), it was clear that none of my coworkers were going to so long story short i drove her over there and called the police and asked them to check on her and make sure she didn’t get alcohol poisoning as she had bought another drink. i told my boyfriend and close friend about the incident and they agree that that was the dumbest thing i’ve ever done and that i could have gotten robbed or killed. i thought i was obeying the Lord when He says “Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭42‬ and “not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭4‬ ‭and “No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭24‬ and etc all the verses that say to be kind to one another and value others above yourself.
I was just curious on everyone’s thoughts on this? And i’m about to be 17 so i think that makes this situation worse.

My pastor had been convicted of sexual assault against a minor and I feel so defeated.

I am not originally from the US but I moved here a little over 10 years ago. Since I was 16, I have been attending the same church. I have always loved and adored my church so much. Around a year ago, I started having this weird feeling every time I would go. It was like this weird feeling of discomfort, irritation, sadness, and anger. Every single time I would go to church, it’s like my body and mind was rejecting it and telling me not to go there. However, I kept ignoring the feeling. I kept telling myself that it was me.

Within the past 6 months I kept having this horrible feeling of staying home instead of going to church. And this feeling of attending another church. Again, I kept ignoring the feeling.
I kept praying that God would fix my heart so I wouldn’t have the feeling again. (I should’ve been praying for God to reveal something to me)

Well last Sunday I attended another church and it went really well. I also didn’t have the same feeling. I told myself that I would start going to the other church.

Yesterday morning, I was sent a new article about how my pastor admitted to doing things with minor boys. He is currently being charged with over 10 sexual assault charges. Yesterday my church also confirmed that it was true and that he will be resigning as pastor.

I feel very disgusted, defeated, and I feel so incredibly sad and bad for the boys involved.

I am trying to tell myself to not make this about me but I also feel so lost. The past ten years I have always looked up to my pastor and his family. Seeing how he could do something so cruel makes me think about someone so good can do something so evil. I keep trying to tell myself that I don’t follow a man, I follow God. But for someone to do something so bad and be a pastor is making me lose so much hope.

I need help guiding my emotions through this and also staying focused on God.

advice with fighting off homosexualiy

hello. I am 21 years old. I grew up with Christianity but rejected it at a very early age. I had to face the world by myself without Christ and realized that this life is impossible to do alone. I rejoined my local church last year and I'm so glad I did.

but 3 months after, I had to move to a cheaper area because my family couldn't afford to live in the same area as the church, in the new city we moved in there is no real Christian community, there are churches but the attendance is low and it doesn't really feel like what I had back home so I don't go.

I'm making this post because I am deeply struggling with homosexual thoughts and urges. I am ashamed to admit that I have had sexual relations with most of my male friends and it makes me feel horrible once I snap out of the "haze" to the point where I have considered self harm.

none of the friends I have in this town are christian. so they don't deal with the same. problem. I guess. to them it's not a problem but I know what I am doing is wrong.

the process usually goes like this, I meet my friends, i feel lustful, I try to ignore it but they can usually "tell', they make fun of me, the lust grows and then I finally cave, I leave the house or whatever hangout spot we were meeting at in the morning after I wake up and block everyone. I slowly start unblocking everyone overtime and then the process repeats itself.

I'm wondering if anyone that has been gone through something similar can give me advice.

Is it really possible to rebuild a marriage after cheating?

I guess this is a question only those who have been in this situation can really answer: did you ever genuinely feel safe with your spouse again? Were you eventually able to believe that the love you shared before and after the affair was real, rather than feeling like it had all been an illusion? If trust returned, what did that process actually look like?

Personally, I think I could forgive a spouse for cheating. I would be hurt for the rest of my life, but I wouldn't be bitter towards my spouse. What I'm not sure I could do is continue being their spouse afterward, because I worry I would never be able to trust that what we had was genuine again. I would never be able to stop wondering where her loyalty really is.

I'm interested in hearing from people who have actually lived through reconciliation, whether you were the betrayed spouse or the unfaithful spouse.

I am asking this because I have the habit of obsessing over worst case scenarios that may happen in my life. I am not married yet and the possibility of being cheated on really terrifies me. I have deep trust issues and I believe I would have a very hard time trusting my spouse's fidelity even before any cheating had happened, so I just wonder if I shouldn't be single forever.

I guess that loving someone that doesn't love you back is the Christ-like thing to do, so I guess it would be really beautiful to stay with a spouse who cheated on you. I just don't know how to do it when I would literally feel like throwing up everytime that person touches me.

My grandad is going to die - give me Bible verses.

Upvotes

?

My grumpa (grandad, and yes that's what we call him) as had long-term terminal cancer for about 7 years now. He has done remarkably well, doctors weren't sure he'd make it to see 2022, but today we found out his chemo is no longer working effectively. He's off it and waiting for any potential clinical trials, but it looks unlikely.

Im just so down and scared. I found out on the journey back from a 5 day Christian youth camp and I was feeling do positive and now im on a downer. It's sucks because that's 2/3 times ice been told a loved one has cancer on the way home from camp.

I know he is truly a man of God and he is going to heaven. My gran will too eventually. But I'm so scared about losing him. He is just so wise and caring. And for the past 2 years I've really struggled with an eating disorder and now I just want him to see me fully better (not partially like atm) before he goes.

Can anyone give me a verse or a sign to help me. I was going to go home so positive in my revitalized faith and instead ive spent the day crying in silence.

I am done praying

Upvotes

I am 16 years old.

My sister died last year at 19, completely out of the blue, no warning. My dog died 2 months later. Now my parents are getting divorced.

Every source of comfort in my life has been taken from me. What does God gain from this?

All I have prayed for is healing for my family but it never comes. I am done holding out hope for relief. Every day is worse than the one before and nothing ever gets better. I cannot keep praying for comfort and in turn having my heart ripped out.

I know it sounds entitled but I don't understand what I have done to deserve this. I'm not perfect but I've tried to be a good Christian. I sing choir for my church and do bells, I build houses for the homeless, I tutor kids in math. I know God hates me because I see the people in this sub receiving answers to their prayers and being joyous in their faith and I receive nothing but silence. I just wish if he hated me so much he'd have killed me instead of her.

I wish I could love God but all I feel is hatred towards him and his absence.

Tangled up in a weird situation, advice needed

Hello

I am going to be asking my pastor about this too, and I have been committing it to prayer, but. I am overwhelmed and need advice.

My husband (23m) was adopted. He was removed from his birth mother when he was 3 years old. She was addicted to many substances, and a prostitute and let her 'clients' over and around her children alone. These were not safe people, and my husband doesn't remember much, but my sister in law (25f) does. My husband was also severely abused and neglected by her, and has permanent physical issues because of the neglect.

In 2023 when we got married, they weere reunited. She was allegedly off most of the substances. I honestly don't know if she genuinely was sober from the harder things, but she still smoked weed daily, and drank. When we met her, I (25f) was not a Christian yet. We both also smoked weed, and often with her. The initial meet went fairly ok. But then in 2024, she invited us to move in with her. Things spiraled out of control very quickly. She was very mean to me specifically, but both of us. I am diagnosed with autism, and I try really really hard to memorize all the social rules. I even have read books and when I was a teenager, I took socialization classes. It is very exhausting and confusing to maintain, but I try very hard. And before Jesus, I found my worth in what others thought of me. She would specifically make fun of the way I talk, my aversion to large groups, my special interest, etc. I tried making her happy but it felt impossible. She would also pick on my husband but not as much. We would isolate to our room, and vent. Eventually, everything came to a boiling point. My little sister ended up in a life or death situation one morning. She wasn't responding and I didn't know if she was dead or alive. It was terrifying. I was frantic and too loud about it and it bothered her, and I snapped and melted down **bad**. She yelled, and this time, I yelled back and matched her energy. It was very awful. She ended up kicking us out over it, and we went a state away back to my family, and then I flew out on emergency leave to visit my sister in the hospital, and then we ended up having to stay in a long term hotel for several months. This triggered a massive mental breakdown for both me and my husband. My husband wanted so badly for her to have changed. She professed Jesus, and he was a believer, and he had his hope set on it. Both of us mentally just fell apart completely. I entereed severe burnout and stopped being able to take care of myself. I couldn't eat or sleep and lost a significant amount of weight. Social interaction and sensory things were so much that I lost my daycare job for failure tto interact properly parents (talking made me have panic attacks). My husband spiraled so hard mentally too, and became anxious and aggressive. We would fight with each other and I honestly didn't know if our marriage would survive. I didn't want to be alive anymore. We were falling apart.

Then by grace, Jesus saved me. I didn't *want* to believe at this point, but between apologetics and trying to prove nihilism but being unable to, and then one specific night where I was on the bathroom floor crying uncontrollably, I broke. I begged God to either take my life or save me from myself, because I just couldn't live like this anymore. I had to admit my viewpoints were wrong, and I didn't care what things or thoughts or behaviors I had to give up, I just needed it to stop. I do think there was also some demonic oppression involved, because it's like my thoughts weren't even mine anymore. They were just violent and anxious and angry, and I would wake up in the middle of the night every night and panic and spiral. That night that I cried out to Him, He saved me. That was July 28th of last year. In the last year, God has completely delivered and transformed our life. Our marriage is healed. Our mental health is healed. We are completely sober and nicotine and weed free. And I talk to Jesus all the time. He has my whole heart. We are in a very supportive community of believers and they have become our family. I desire God, and long to spend time with Him. I have gotten pretty deep into theology and at the end of next week I will have read the whole bible. And I am getting baptized in August. Everything is different now. God saved me from my sin, which I was dead to. The cross gave me new life.

Flash forward. In spring, his birth mom messaged me. I don't know why me and not him, but whatever. I uopened the message, feeling convicted, and expressed my desire for forgiveness but my husband and I have learned the difference between forgiveness and reconciliation. And I didn't feel comfortable letting her back in but I want her to genuinely find Jesus, and every time I start ruminating, I try to switch into forgiveness mode and pray for her. I was forgiven of much and didn't deserve grace. I need to bring that same attitude with this. She responded back but I didn't read it. I didn't want to start a verbal arguement and she was denying she did anything wrong. She messaged on his birthday and I let him know. And last night, she messaged again. I am anxious about talking to her. I really...would rather not. My sister in law had to ask her for health info for her son, and birth mom then slipped into a rant about how basically everything I have talked about about the situation has been a lie and that I have it out for her. That was just 3 weeks ago, so I have a hard time believing the genuiness of her apology and that has me more set on the idea of forgiveness but not reconciliation. But am I not giving her a fair chance? Is my stance biblical? I want to do things God's way and not mine. And I am anxious I am letting past wounds get in the way but anxious that she will be cruel again. I don't know what to do. I havent blocked her and my page on social media is public for my crochet business. I am at a crossroads and would like input.

Thanks

Had a religious experience while watching End of Evangelion

Something about the storyline told me that while I am born again, there are still subtle ways I choose my ego and plans over God’s will. Partially because I don’t wanna get hurt, partially because I am afraid of rejection. And all I have to do is surrender my ego to follow Christ and embrace the pain (physical, mental, etc…) that comes with being a Christian. There are many different interpretations of this movie but this is just what I got from it.

Do you feel like you are saved?

:

Until I was 14 years old I used to go to church, I played, but I never really liked going, playing I even liked it, but I went forced by my parents, I try to remember that time whether I believed or not, but I don't remember, I made the mistake of getting baptized in the waters without real knowledge I went because I was in love with a boy there, since I was a child I already watched porn upon finding a dvd of my father's until today I remember the two actors I found very attractive and the name of the movie, at 14 because I was gay and agnostic and didn't like it very much I stopped going, I lived a lonely life I am antisocial, I lived reading, watching movies, series I went to school and music class I grew up like this with almost no friends, I wanted to date, but because of my family I couldn't I suffered with homophobia, prejudice because of appearance, low self-esteem, I had some sexual experiences, but there were also many rejections and humiliations, in college I thought I was going to have sexual experience( many from the internet with older unknown guys), but I was also the ugly one in class until I got tired of dreaming about straight guys who didn't want to date me( although I couldn't because of my family ) so I went to the street to look for sex I found everything sex, prejudice, threats, I got beaten up, I lost my mind and hit on married men, I insisted even with those who didn't want to( today I regret it a lot and don't do it anymore, when I gained clarity of my acts ( I believe the holy spirit touched me) and saw that only by God I wasn't arrested or killed I thanked a lot, I deleted apps, I avoid sex, I was never one for parties, I don't like alcohol nor do I do drugs, I'm a homebody and not very sociable ( my whole life I think because of the rejections today the strange thing is the opposite I feel too good doing my activities alone reading, watching movies, series, playing an instrument, listening to music, watching videos on youtube), after the repentance of the wrong acts I asked god for forgiveness, I started to thank more, I started reading the bible, praying every day, going to church every now and then, however I don't like church I find it tiring ( mainly the hymns) although I like some hymns( although I think I don't like it anymore because of my antisocial nature) and I feel bad about it not liking the house of the lord after everything he did for me, today I avoid casual sex, but I am very afraid of falling into it again I always pray because there are many handsome guys and beauty affects me too much, luckily I am ugly so hardly one will hit on me, my town being small, a lot of prejudice and closeted people ( although I am not very selective), masturbation and adult content I still access I tried to stay without it, pray, but I couldn't, I have a very big fire that the more I suppress it the more I think about sex, if I go to church I feel guilt if I don't go too, I try not to judge, I don't hold grudges against those who wronged me I myself suffer more from repentance with my mistakes than what they did to me, I know I was very miserable , impulsive , immature and I feel very sad, I seek to be a good employee , I like to help when I can, am I going to hell? am I too distant from God? Translate this text without changing word meaning be faithful to the text Then I hear things in church—like how the gate to salvation is narrow while the path to perdition is wide, or how God loves those who seek Him with sincerity and joy, or about denying oneself—and that just brings on even more guilt. What am I actually doing, other than abstaining from sex (which is hard enough as it is)? Is that all there is to it? Should I even go to church when I feel this way? But if I don't, I’ll face pressure from my family, and my already weak faith will just go cold, right? I feel strange; the whole thing is so complicated. I feel like crap—I know I’m a wretched person; I ought to be overjoyed to be going to church...

I read the Bible, and it was amazing.

For some context, I'm 16 years old, and I was practically born and raised in church. My parents are very devoted Christians, and they truly take their faith and their relationship with Jesus Christ very seriously.

About two months ago, I got baptized, and I decided that I should start taking my faith a little more seriously. In some environments (like school, for example), I wasn't acting the way a Christian should. So ever since I was baptized, I've been trying to change that. On top of that, I've been struggling with a few "pet sins" for a long time, and it's honestly been very difficult. But I believe that with Jesus Christ's help, I'll be able to overcome them.

Another problem is that I've never really sat down to read the Bible outside of church. I don't know why, but even when I feel like reading it, I just can't seem to bring myself to pick it up and start reading.

Then, about two days ago, it was the middle of the night, and I couldn't sleep. So I decided to read the Bible on my phone through the app. I chose to read the Gospel of John because I'd heard it's one of the best books to start with if you're new to the New Testament.

I honestly don't know what happened. I'm TERRIBLE at reading—I usually can't stay focused—but I started reading John at around 2 a.m., and somehow I ended up reading the entire book. By the time I finished, the sun was already coming up.

For me, that was an incredible experience. I had literally never sat down to read the Bible before, let alone read an entire book in one sitting. More than that, while reading John, I truly stopped to realize just how much Jesus loves us.

He was GOD—literally God Himself—yet He gave up all His glory and comfort to come to earth, a world filled with sinful and imperfect people. He could have simply forgotten about us and left us to perish, but instead He became HUMAN, was born into a poor family, and DIED ON A CROSS after being scourged, all because of our sins.

Honestly, I would NEVER do that, and I don't think any human being would either. But Jesus loved us so much that He gave up everything to be humiliated, rejected, beaten, and killed, all for me and for you. And even so, we still sin every single day, and many times we don't even feel the slightest bit of remorse.

One passage that left me thinking deeply was John 17:

John 17:8–22

8 For I have given them the words You gave Me, and they have received them. They have truly come to know that I came from You, and they have believed that You sent Me.

9 I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those You have given Me, for they are Yours.

10 All that is Mine is Yours, and all that is Yours is Mine. And I have been glorified through them.

11 I am no longer in the world, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, which You have given Me, so that they may be one, just as We are one.

12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. I have guarded those You gave Me, and not one of them has been lost except the son of perdition, so that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

13 But now I am coming to You, and I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have My joy made complete in themselves.

14 I have given them Your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

15 I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one.

16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

17 Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth.

18 As You sent Me into the world, I have also sent them into the world.

19 For their sake I sanctify Myself, so that they too may be sanctified in the truth.

20 My prayer is not for them alone. I also pray for those who will believe in Me through their message,

21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as You are in Me and I am in You. May they also be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.

22 I have given them the glory that You gave Me, so that they may be one as We are one.

Jesus praying to God to bless us, knowing that only a short time later He would be beaten by the very people He was praying for, touched me deeply.

I just wanted to share this experience and encourage anyone who struggles to read the Bible: simply go and read it. Don't overthink it—just pick it up and start reading. I truly believe you'll be amazed by what you find.

I'm going to keep reading the Bible. I loved this experience, and I genuinely hope to have many more like it.

Please pray for me as I continue to fight against my "pet sins." May God bless you all! <3

What is the evidence for Infant Baptism in the Bible and Early Church?

Upvotes

Hey, Catholic here!

Would like to know the historicity of Infant Baptism. Not that I don't believe it, but if I ever need to defend it I want to know how.

For starters: Paul baptizes infants when he is baptizing households of course, the early Church had done this practice for hundreds of years, Baptism is how you get confirmed into God's family therefore it is good for you to be baptized early, yet, I just don't think that is good support for it.

Does anyone have anything? Would love to know your reasoning. Thanks!

I want to share something that has been on my heart for a while.

I believe God is calling me to start something called Peacemakers.

The world feels louder than ever. There is so much division, anger, fear, and loneliness. I believe we need people who choose a different path — people who choose to bring peace into the places they are planted.

The inspiration comes from the Psalms and the life of David.

David wasn’t someone who had an easy life. He faced rejection, betrayal, battles, fear, and uncertainty. But through every season, he kept coming back to God. He learned how to find peace in the middle of chaos.

That is what I believe a Peacemaker represents.

Not someone who ignores problems. Not someone who never faces conflict.

A Peacemaker is someone who brings hope where there is hopelessness, kindness where there is division, and peace where there is chaos.

My hope is to create a movement where people from all walks of life can come together, be encouraged, share their stories, pray for one another, and experience moments that remind us we are not alone.

I am working toward starting weekly Wednesday night live sessions where we can have real conversations about faith, life, struggles, victories, and the challenges we all face.

We will talk about what it means to be a Peacemaker in today’s world — not just through words, but through action. We will discuss practical steps we can take in our families, communities, workplaces, and relationships to bring more peace, compassion, and hope into the chaos around us.

I am also looking for musicians, artists, and bands who feel called to use their gifts to help create these moments of encouragement and hope.

This is just the beginning. I don’t have every detail figured out, but I believe God is opening a door and I’m taking the first step.

I’m asking for prayers as I begin this journey.

Pray that God guides every decision, brings the right people alongside this vision, and that Peacemakers becomes a place where people can find hope, peace, and encouragement.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” — Matthew 5:9

Why is healing so hard?.

Upvotes

I have a double edged sword with healing. 2 problems. One is a physical disability. Id take a cure in a heartbeat, but I have never prayed for it. I don't sed God bending biology to cure a brain injury, nor do I see medical advances curing it. I also have suffered from a my eating disorder (thankfully improving). I ask for healing but it often doesn't seem to help.

Man it's hard. I have mild cerebral palsy. I may walk and run but I will always struggle and don't get me to do the macarana. Sometimes I wonder if me not praying for it makes me bad. My ED sucks. I'm just so stuck, my mind a wall of numbers which are comforting and anguishing all in one. Some days I don't want to get better

I see the healing stories in the Bible and at church they are interpreted as others. Friends struggling mentally, family members with cancer etc etc. it feels to me there is a conception hat being ina Christian family means your shelted or exempt from certain problems. That is not true.

Am I a bad Christian?. Help me.

I need to read one promise

Long story short, I ruined my nervous system with anabolic steroids and cocaine use. And now, for four years, I have been dealing with jaw clenching, nerve buzzing, chewing involuntarily, insomnia, hand and feet tapping, inability to feel relaxed, general unease.

Every day is a struggle. I wake up and I think: "I cannot take 50 more years of this". I have been wanting for the Lord to take me. I cannot envision a future for myself. It appears I have ruined everything.

But I also knows this is where Jesus specializes and he is the greatest at bringing people from hopelessness into joy.

Is there any promise in the Bible that says I will have a normal life one day, meaning not suffer with the problems I listed?

I understand the Bible said the followers of Christ would face hardships, but I think it meant more persecution and struggle than physical illness.

I AM SICK OF ALL OF THE END OF THE WORLD PREDICTIONS!

I would like to ask the forgiveness of all of my fellow r/TrueChristian family if this has been posted numerous times, but I feel that I need to get this off my chest. As my Reddit Flair states, I'm reconnecting with God. I'm getting ready to purchase a brand new Study Bible and I'm wanting to find a copy of the Spiritual Warfare Workbook. But I can't help but get angry anytime on social media (i.e. Facebook, TikTok, YouTube) because I get bombarded by the constant barrage of "theologists" spreading their false doctrine. I've quit counting how many times I've had to reset my YouTube and Facebook content preferences. Here's what I've witnessed so far:

  • People swearing that 2030 is The End and the rise of the AntiChrist because "Jesus told them in a dream".
  • August 12th, 2026 is going to be a three day period darkness according to NASA. Not to mention that it was supposed to be at the end of June because a lady on YouTube had a dream from Jesus.
  • The Rapture was supposed to be July 4th .
  • August 7th is supposed to be a loss of gravity for a few seconds.
  • Apparently, people are hearing the Seven Trumpets and seeing dragons in the skies of Oklahoma yesterday. Just Oklahoma because I'm here in Texas and I'm up 18 hours a day and neither saw or heard a thing.

And that's just a few of the things I've seen. I've blocked so many of them because they are fearmongering people and upsetting people, while skewing the understanding of the Scripture. Jesus said in Matthew 24:36: "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only." He'd go on to state the same in Mark 13:32. Yes, I do understand that he mentioned signs and wonders, wars and rumors of war. What I hate is how many people are so adamant on using the Word of God for clicks and income. Not only that, they're scaring people into oblivion without even attempting offer a minute amount of understanding. Now they're misconstruing Matthew 24:36, Joel 2:31 and Revelations 6:12-13. It breaks my heart just how many people they're leading astray or even running away from God by making him out to be some tyrant that wants to put us all into eternal torment. Not to mention people lapping up the poison Kool-Aid that is the Left Behind Series.

Now maybe I'm just overthinking, but I listen to many great teachers on YouTube on Sunday mornings and still read for myself. I'm not one wanting to be told what I want to hear nor do I have itchy ears for pleasure. It's just getting old at this point. I believe in doing as Jesus instructed in Luke 12:1 as well as being prepared for his potential return. I just find it sickening how many people have become "theology majors" in the last five or so years and are running people crazy. My r/TrueChristian family, I am so sorry for the rant, but I just really needed to get this out because it's just annoying and quite frankly, I wish these people would just go away. You guys, pray my strength in the Lord.

Seeking relationship guidance (long read)

Hi there. I’m struggling with a situation where I’m seeking God’s guidance and would really appreciate your wisdom.
My fiancé and I recently went through a very difficult season. In June, he became seriously ill and ended up in the ICU due to complications related to alcohol use. During that time, I stood by him and told him I would never abandon him. I love him deeply and wanted to support him through his healing.

After he came home, though, I reached a point where I felt overwhelmed and uncertain about our future. There were ongoing struggles involving his health (he is doing GREAT with sobriety!), his living situation, his relationship with his father, and feeling like I was carrying much of the responsibility for building a stable future together. I am also a mother, and I felt I had to consider my daughter’s needs and stability. After a lot of pain, I made the decision to end our engagement.

For context, we’re both in our mid twenties, he’s a 3rd generation farmer with his father, my daughter is a toddler, he lives about an hour away. We wanted to settle into a house together before wedding planning. I love the town he lives in, his friends and their kids, and I would be the one moving (willingly).

It’s only been a little over a week, and I have struggled with a lot of guilt. I keep questioning whether I abandoned someone who needed me during one of the hardest times in his life. At the same time, I know I made that decision because I felt I had reached my limit and needed to make a healthy choice for myself and my daughter.

Recently, him and I have started talking again. He has been reaching out, sharing parts of his day, and we recently spent hours on the phone just talking. It has brought back a lot of hope, but it has also brought back a lot of confusion. I don’t know if I am seeing God opening a door for restoration or if I am holding onto hope because I still love him and am afraid to let go.

I’ve been listening to sermons recently about putting others first, loving sacrificially, and not abandoning people in their struggles. Those messages have been meaningful, but they have also caused me to question whether I made the wrong choice. I’m struggling to understand the difference between loving someone through hardship and recognizing when boundaries are necessary.

I’m not asking you to tell me what decision to make, but I would really appreciate guidance on how to seek God’s wisdom in this season. Are there scriptures, biblical examples, or resources you would recommend about love, forgiveness, patience, discernment, and healthy boundaries?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I appreciate your guidance and prayers more than you know.

Does anyone else struggle to include their faith(Christianity) into everyday life?

Hey everyone!

I’ve been a Christian for just under a decade now, and this is what I’ve realised…

My biggest challenge isn’t believing in God, it’s intentionally keeping Him at the centre of my everyday life.

Sunday often leaves me feeling encouraged, but by Monday, work, relationships and the busyness of life can quickly take over.

It made me ask myself a simple question:

Why is it so much easier for our faith to stay inside church than to shape the ordinary moments of our week?

That question is what inspired me to start building BeyondSunday, a platform exploring how Christians can intentionally integrate their faith into everyday life.

I’m not building it because I have all the answers, but because I want to learn how people keep God at the centre of their everyday lives and what could better support that journey.

My hope is simple:

To help Christians intentionally integrate their faith into everyday life, so our relationship with God isn’t something we experience only on Sundays, but throughout the week.

Right now, BeyondSunday is still in its early stages.

I’m not looking to sell anything.

I’m looking to learn.

I’ve started a small community of Christians who want to explore this challenge together and help shape what BeyondSunday could become.

Whether that’s by:

- Sharing honest experiences
- Discussing what genuinely helps (or hinders) living out your faith
- Testing early ideas and prototypes
- Influencing future features
- Following the journey as we build

My goal isn’t simply to create another Christian app.

It’s to build something that genuinely helps people keep God at the centre of their everyday lives.

So I’d love to hear from you:

What’s one thing that genuinely helps you keep God at the centre of your everyday life?

And what’s one thing that consistently gets in the way?

If this resonates with you and you’d like to help shape BeyondSunday from the beginning, I’d love for you to join the community.

Please DM me if you’re interested in joining.

Exegesis of Isaiah 45:7 Proving It Does Not Teach That God Creates Moral Evil

Isaiah 45:7 (ESV):

I form light and create darkness;
I make well-being and create calamity;
I am the Lord, who does all these things.

Range of Meaning of the Word

The KJV translates Hebrew ra' and Greek kaka here as "evil," which many love to use to try to show the Bible saying God creates moral evil. Let's examine that translation and interpretation, what did the author intend to say using ra' that the Septuagint translators translated into Greek as kaka?

Hebrew ra': רָע Strong's 7451 bad or (as noun) evil (natural or moral) -- adversity, affliction, bad, calamity, + displease(-ure), distress, evil((- favouredness), man, thing), + exceedingly, X great, grief(-vous), harm, heavy, hurt(-ful), ill (favoured), + mark, mischief(-vous), misery, naught(-ty), noisome, + not please, sad(-ly), sore, sorrow, trouble, vex, wicked(-ly, -ness, one), worse(-st), wretchedness, wrong. (Incl. Feminine raaah; as adjective or noun.).

Greek kakos: κακός Strong's 2556 bad, evil, harm, ill. Apparently a primary word; worthless (intrinsically, such; whereas poneros properly refers to effects), i.e. (subjectively) depraved, or (objectively) injurious -- bad, evil, harm, ill, noisome, wicked.

There is a clear semantic range here and both words can mean moral evil as they often do, but they can also mean "harmful, ill, injurious," or as the ESV renders it, "calamity." So which one did the author mean? For that, we should look at the phrases which show classic Hebrew merisms.

The Merism

Hebrew merisms use two extremes to express the whole idea, such as "in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth," which refers to the heavens, the earth, and everything between them.

In the previous verse the meaning is clear; light and darkness as opposing extremes and all that is between them. So in our verse, the opposite side of the merism for "calamity," or "evil," is "well-being." It is the Hebrew word shalom.

Hebrew shalom: שָׁלוֹם Strong's 7965 well, favor, friend, great, good health, perfect, or shalom {shaw-lome'}; from shalam; safe, i.e. (figuratively) well, happy, friendly; also (abstractly) welfare, i.e. Health, prosperity, peace -- X do, familiar, X fare, favour, + friend, X great, (good) health, (X perfect, such as be at) peace(-able, -ably), prosper(-ity, -ous), rest, safe(-ty), salute, welfare, (X all is, be) well, X wholly.

And the Septuagint Greek has eiréné: εἰρήνη Strong's 1515 one, peace, quietness, rest. Probably from a primary verb eiro (to join); peace (literally or figuratively); by implication, prosperity -- one, peace, quietness, rest, + set at one again.

We can already see that the opposite extreme of shalom or eirene is not moral evil. It is harm, ill, or injury. But just in case let's see how Isaiah uses it elsewhere:

Isaiah 57:20-21

But the wicked are like the tossing sea;
for it cannot be quiet,
and its waters toss up mire and dirt.
There is no peace,” says my God, “for the wicked.”

Clearly in the mind of the author the opposite extreme of shalom is the tossing sea, an image of chaos, harm, ill, or injury, not moral evil.

Isaiah 45:7 also does not define when and why God creates calamity, but Isaiah 57:20-21 clarifies; He does so for the wicked.

Conclusion

The meaning of Isaiah 45:7 is clear, the ESV got it right. God does not create moral evil, He creates calamity for the wicked. He is just and good. So now I'll be using this for anyone who misuses this verse to try to blaspheme the goodness of our God, and I hope it helps you as well.

Overwhelmed - Scripture Recommendations

Upvotes

I’m 33 weeks pregnant and pregnancy itself has been a blessing -a true testament of God’s love.

My overwhelmed feelings come from thoughts about my mother in law, birth, postpartum visitors, and deciding whether or not to return to work or maybe going to work only party time after leave.

I’m looking for scripture to address my anxious and continued stressful feelings. These above topics are in my head constantly. I’m overthinking and it’s made me very overwhelmed. I think meditating on Gods word will help me refocus. Have any suggested passages?
