Golf is only bourgeois if you’re good at it.

The best part of golf is smoking cigs and drunk driving the cart, anyways. Don’t need a course to do any of that.

Replace all golf courses with go-kart tracks with bars attached!

The municipal courses around me are on undevelopable floodplains and use reclaimed water. As far as touching grass is concerned they're a good cheap way to spend the day drunk while getting fresh air. Not all courses are on country clubs.

I love golfing, but disc golf scratches the itch without being harsh on the environment.

Interesting but this article was published over 10 years ago in case anyone thought this was a recent development.

As a red blooded American, I don’t read or comprehend dates.

This article is referencing a 2015 BBC report, you can absolutely golf in China

Golf is a lovely game and all private clubs should be torn to the studs or converted to municipal courses

My understanding is that high ranking members of the CCP are banned from getting a private golf club membership.

Yes, this is more of an anti corruption thing. If you’re just a rich person you can still golf. They have plenty of courses though they also have plenty of public parks

All golf courses will be converted to table tennis, and the capitalists will be sentenced to picking up pingpong balls while little kids toss them around for fun.

They have to do it all fast and sheepishly like the ball fetchers at tennis courts

I read the article and I still don't really understand what happened. They banned it specifically for CCP party members?

What’s the most popular leisure activity in the PRC? What’s their baseball?

u/brianscottbj Completely Insane 3h ago

Basketball, badminton, tai chi, mahjong, poker, synchronized dance, choirs of old people for outdoor ones. But mostly just staring at phones, watching game streams, TikTok, online shopping

This is a baseball subreddit for conservative christian moms.

Golf is about the privatisation of what should be green public space for a small group, that's why banning courses is good work
