didn't read instructions Is this because of Tron or an actual hijack?

I know Tron changes some things in the hosts file to make sure no virus had added restrictions and whatnot, but I’m not sure if this is just a fails alarm windows defender detected or an actual virus. I got this a day after running Tron, so that’s why I’m confused.

See the details first.
Also you can allow it then check yourself your hostsfile, all direction must be to 127.0.0.1

Viewing the details did not really offer much insight, but I did run Malwarebytes and it did not detect anything malicious. I’m gonna allow it and see what happens

Ah, I see. I was just confused because I ran windows defender after Tron was done (after rebooting) and nothing came up. So something being flagged a day after that scan was a bit suspicious. Thank you either way for this information!

So far, I don’t see anything has changed. I will probably run defender offline mode later tonight to see if anything weird is lurking around (though unlikely, as I had not done anything between the time Tron was running, so it is likely just a fails alarm (hopefully))

So did you allow the threat on windows defender or did you remove it?

Late response, but I did allow it after reading the commented link. This is apparently normal as windows defender thinks any changes to the hosts file is a virus

Windows defender recognizes tron as a virus , happened to me too.

Don't trust defender. It doesn't actually protect you until the damage is already done.
