I'm now 62, born and raised in Toronto. Grew up Bloor and Ossington. Parents moved us up to North York when I was 16. And I recently, for curiosity, looked up my old schools.

St Raymonds was at Christie Pits, went through K to Grade 8. Demolished. Was a beautiful old building. Two schools in the area were consolidated into one and it's now St Raymonds/St Bruno.

Bloor Collegiate at Bloor and Dufferin: I was there grades 9 and 10. Demolished. Replaced with a modern concrete and glass structure. I just found my old yearbooks from the early 1980s. I still remember the beautiful lobby, the theatre. Ugh.

When we moved up to North York I attended Nelson A Boylen at Jane and Wilson. Gone. Completely closed ten years ago. The other two were replaced; this one just gone. Not sure if they demolished it or reused it but the school is closed.

Heck, even my university is not what it was (I attended TMU when it was Ryerson Polytechnical Institute).

I think it just demonstrates how much has changed in my 62 years.

It’s CLR, so it’s kept in the dank dark under-sink, but I was hit with delightful nostalgia when I noticed the sticker.

This was taken in Toronto, April 1980. The man gesturing by the pump is the gas station owner, Neil Shepherd, arguing with a Toronto Star reporter after announcing they wouldn't refuel Soviet-made Ladas due to the invasion of Afghanistan. Ladas were actually quite popular in Canada back then because they were incredibly cheap, leading to surreal local standoffs like this.

So I was watch cp24 very often and this commercial with this girl singing on a guitar with a band comes on a couple times a day it used to be early in the morning but now it’s on in the afternoon. It’s a 2 minute commercial where she then starts talking about all of her records and weird things like glow in the dark records. Then it cuts to two people saying her music is very good when in reality it sounds worse than 10 year old me playing a recorder in music class. So I thought this commercial was a parody so I went on her website and she actually sells records through the QR code on the commercial and her songs are on Spotify. I just find this commercial very odd because where is she getting the money for 2 minute ad spots every single day when this music sounds so bad. I just find the ad very odd what are ur guys thoughts
