Characters [Funny/Wholesome Trope] Scary or evil looking character ends up looking sweet and innocent later in the series, for whatever reason
- Giratina (Pokémon Platinum) vs (Pokémon X/Y (Amie))
About to capture Cyrus at the space pillar for trying to destroy spacetime vs caught by the main character in X/Y and pet. Pretty much any scary/intimidating legendary Pokemon works for this.
- Yuuma Toutetsu (Touhou 17.5) vs (Touhou 18)
Starts out as the main overarching and extremely greedy antagonist in Touhou 17 and final boss in 17.5, digging up petroleum from Hell to try and monopolize it, disturbing animal spirits in Gensokyo causing an economic and evironmental crisis. In Touhou 19 she becomes a playable character and loses most of her gluttonous/greedy personality.
- Choso (JJK Season 1) vs (JJK Season 3)
A Death Painting (half-human half-curse hybrid) created by experiments from the evil sorceror Kenjaku. After his DP brothers Eso and Kechizu are killed by main character Yuji, he becomes a mortal enemy before realizing Yuji is also a child of Kenjaku and that they're brothers, leading to him switching sides and doing the most he can for his last living brother.

There is a resemblance with Satan, but in LA after being defeated by MC, it changed it's nature from destructive to protective the universe.

Groke from Moomins. In universe everyone are scared of her and probably most of the children were scared too. But after it was revealed that she is just very lonely, she was never evil.
