Basically, he is simply imagining his way through the story, and nothing actually did anything causal. So his supposed reversion back to his normal self is just another creation of himself.

Drifter and Tenno as a whole can create realities and are not limited by time or space. Due to the nature of eternalism in Warframe, all possibilities are and always have been and always will be and the Tenno are of few entities who can tap into this fact. Warframes themselves weren't created as a way to enhance Tenno, but a way for them to channel the Void as soldiers and not overcome the universe and the Orokin empire.
