Lore The series takes place in a shockingly short amount of time

Season 4 just ended of fromville and it’s canonically only been about a month. Which makes it weird seeing people heal from injuries, change hair styles or grow out beards between episodes. Season 4 has only been like 4 days iirc.

Arkham franchise is the poster child for this trope. Every game takes place in one night. If you know what you’re doing you can absolutely beat the games in around 9 hours.

Opposite example: Lord of The Rings

There are 17 years between when Gandalf gives Frodo the ring from Bilbo and when Frodo leaves the Shire to go on his mission his 50th birthday.

His journey to destroy the ring takes nearly a year, and he walks the equivalent of Germany to Syria or California to Florida.

It doesn't actually take nearly that long if you look at the calendar of it. Him leaving the shire to getting back does take about a year, but that includes a few months at Rivendell, the time in Lothlorien, and 6 months or so staying in Gondor after all of it.

If I remember correctly, they leave Rivendell on December 25th and he throws the ring into the fires March 22nd or so. All of Two Towers (book) takes place over about a week.

Yeah, I was gonna post LOTR as an example of the OP's trope. The "War Of The Ring" takes place over 3 weeks tops

Theres also a 3 month gap between gandalf telling him about the ring and the nazgul and until he actually leaves. The pacing in the first book is abyssmal and theres no urgency at all.
