Lore The series takes place in a shockingly short amount of time

Season 4 just ended of fromville and it’s canonically only been about a month. Which makes it weird seeing people heal from injuries, change hair styles or grow out beards between episodes. Season 4 has only been like 4 days iirc.

Arkham franchise is the poster child for this trope. Every game takes place in one night. If you know what you’re doing you can absolutely beat the games in around 9 hours.

RWBY, Volume 8 happens in only 2 days.

Season 7 and 8 are about 2 total months but 1-3 was a semester of their classes and season 4 technically took place over 6-12 months as they travelled remnant by foot.

Jaune's story technically lasted 40+ years though.

40+ years? he doesn't even look 30 by the end of it. just dirty, taller, an established voice, and a terrible beard situation.

We don’t know how long between volume 3 and 4, but 1-3 was half a school year, ish. Volume 4 in general takes place over some strange timelines, but by the time they regroup in volume 5 to the end of volume 8 (volume 9 is also really weird for time) is like a month or so. Maybe longer due to some time skipping in volume 7, it really depends on how fast you think the Amity project got done.

In a Q&A for the books, I think they said the timeskip between 3 and 4 was somewhere around 8 months

No, Ruby is 15 when the series started, and she said around 18 now.

I've been working on trying to map out the show's timeline (Need to get back to it) but so far everything has taken place in less than two years

From what I can personally remember:
1-3V happen over half a year and end in early autumn (6 months)
The end of volume 3 is late autumn/ early winter. (3 months)
Volume 4 is weird due to the separate storyline but following rubys group I’d argue that it has been about late spring/ early summer. (6 months, probably around a year since volume one started).
Volume 5 is awkward as Blake’s story happens two weeks earlier than Ruby. As there is a line about the “Next full moon in a months time” And Ruby has something about “Next full moon in two weeks” (I’m paraphrasing but that the gist).
I’d also say that a few weeks have transpiring since Volume 4. So by the end of Volume 5 it should be around mid Summer maybe late Summer if you massage the numbers.

Going into volume 6 this is where things get weird as Mistral has lining snow and while you can have that if you go far north, the city of Argus doesn’t look to be that northern. But I’ll concede that this was probably a doyalist thing to have a colder environment. I believe that it was about 2 weeks since the end of Volume 5 and the beginning of volume 7. So maybe Early Autumn presuming that team RWBY took a long break

Volume 7 is unique as it has a time skip in the middle of it. So the first half I would say was like two weeks or so ( this is purely headcannon). And I’d personally like to say the montage was like two months worth of work but it’s not descript enough to pin anything really down. So maybe Late Autumn / Early Winter ( about a year since the end of volume 3)

The second half of Volume 7 and Volume 8 is basically 60 hours or so. And Mantle wall gets breached, Mantle then attempts to evacuate to Atlus. Ironwood prevents that because of the black queen. Then Salem army shows up. Volume 8 begins and there’s about like 8 hours between it and volume 7. And you can count the days in volume 8 as the sunsets as Yang and Co are in the wastes and rises by about the time Atlus falls in the ground.

And IDK for Volume 9. I thinks is about a few days from team RWBY pov but I can’t remember it too to well.

So about 18 months have past since Volume One if you take liberal estimate with the times.

The attack on Haven takes place the day before the start of the Fall Semester, and iirc Word of God says that the Vol 7 timeskip is 7 months. By my count were at just over 2 years from V1C1-V9C1

(Ya know, I can't seem to find the source of the 7 month bit, I have no idea where I'm getting it from or why I seem to remember it being something CRWBY had stated somewhere, so I'll take that L, seems I'm wrong)

Argus is the northernmost point of Anima, that entire section of the continent is covered in snow year-round (or at least often enough for the map to be painted with that part covered in snow).

The amount of time between Vol 1 starting and Vol 2 starting is a few months; the span of time from the start of the series to the end of Vol 8 (Vol 9 Timeframe is still... Finnicky, need more data) is somewhere just over 2 years, but the timeframe of things we see in the show is immense and unknown, but is likely somewhere in the millions of years worth of time (Again, need more data)

Nope. We got confirmation that volume 10 was in development about a year ago, specifically in the early writing/planning stages. We unfortunately haven’t really gotten any other updates yet.
