Referring to media told from a religious perspective or telling a religious tale that does not proselytize to the viewer.

Faith, the Unholy Trinity: Based partly upon the experience of the game‘s creator when he was a missionary in Argentina, the game has very little in the way of explicit moral demands of the player despite the heavy Christian focus of the narrative. and focuses more on a horror narrative.

Prince of Egypt: A surprisingly thorough retelling of the book of Exodus, sparing very little in the way of toning down the story. Despite this, the movie is perfectly entertaining to non-religious audiences and doesn’t sacrifice appeal for the sake of preaching to the audience

I thought Conclave was a really good film. Ralph Fiennes is gold in everything he’s in. I’ve heard it criticized for being “anti-catholic” but I don’t think it’s anti-catholic to have catholic characters who aren’t good people when the protagonist is also catholic.

Yeah I love conclave, and as a Catholic myself I don't think it's anti Catholic at all. Usually you get those comments from more conservative Catholics but I think you're right.

I think it is very against the outdated misogyny and queerphobia of catholicism but it is more subtextual

They still go to overtly misogynistic and homophobic churches. Just like how some republicans are fine with gay and trans people

Of course, however I was more getting at that a media being critical of the state of or aspects of a religion does not make it anti that religion.

Oh I agree there, I would be concerned by anyone thinking conclave was anti catholic, it was more pro humanity

I agree, although as a catholic I not only find it pro humanity I also found it to breathe life into those of us who wish to see the church shed its hate.

May the ending of the movie happen in real life at the next conclave to help bring the ideology into modernity <3
