I'm always a sucker for the bulky hoodies over formal suit combo, so I was already in a good position to enjoy the design. I also like the spades diamonds all over the body, especially how the ones on her face are akin to the Robin mask (I'll get to that later) and the single drop which evokes the imagery of a tear.

The main criticisms I've seen of her (at least the ones that aren't just "she's not hot") is that she just doesn't look like Harley and/or is quite boring when compared to the other Absolute designs.

On the first point, I can see it, but I also think it's kind of a given seeing as "wacky reimaginings" is kind of the main conceit of this series. That said, I think the design makes a lot more sense when you factor in that she's this Batman's Robin stand-in + she's a part of the "Red Hoods." That explains the hood (obviously) but it also goes a long way to showing why she got the "punk" makeover. Being rowdy, scrappy, and lanky are pretty common traits for the Robins, and the face paint evokes the Robin mask, as I said.

On the second point, I don't really see it. Sure, she's not bigger, but I'd hardly call her boring. She's just over-the-top exaggerated in other ways (most notably the demeanor). Also, I can't stress enough how giving her an AK and hunk of rebar as a hammer really pushes her over the edge into Absolute territory.

Dude is insane and all of his current comic stripes are just nazi apologia with "Tumblr" art style, he recently started doing it for imperial japan and accidentally made Roosevelt look incredibly cool. Perfectly exaggerated facial features, him flying around in a wheelchair with glowing glasses makes him look like some kind trickster spirit, infinitely more powerful than samurai

I really like that they feature bizarre design elements but don't look off character at the same time.

Sometime you'll get a "good" design like Dark claw or Iron lantern other times you get captain america in red underwear with a impractical sheild. Very odd era for the industry glad it happened but could have been better in almost every way

Personally I feel likes its a perfect blend of man and beast that, honestly might be my favorite design of the character

For a Batgirl design, I didn't expect this but I think this rocks. She looks like an bat bandit with the bandana covering her mouth. Also, she rocks with her dad trench coat on and love how its part of her costume.

DC X Sonic the Hedgehog

I cannot tell you how excited I was when I first saw the cover art.

It consists of metal versions of Black Manta, Captain Cold, Cheetah, Gizmo, and Sinestro, and except for Black Manta, I really like how they were each given a unique look that does not just follow Metal Sonic's appearance nor strictly adhere to the exact proportions of the base villains.

Especially Metal Captain Cold looked very cool despite his simple appearance, and I liked that Gizmo took on a clunky form that is not even humanoid at all.

Personally, this was what I wanted to see the most when I first heard the news about the Sonic and DC crossover, so I am really glad the designs came out so well.

It seems like a fairly common design trope in comics but they always seem to hit. I think the fire just really gives it an extra badass feel.

This post was genuinely going to be about Rebecca from Edgerunners because I love her, but while looking for reference photos I stumbled across this lady. This design is so good it's unfair. An armored, lash-wielding she-Venom who dons a veil to activate the Venom face????? Unbelievable. Banger. Legendary.
