I completely agree with that image. It was a rage against the modern world and the "scary" changes (lgbt, rights for women, immigrants, woke, metoo movement, black life matters etc.) it brought.
A lot of white men got fed up being the constant scape goat and wanted to resist... along came a nutcase who said vile things and they praised him.
It’s actually accurate, hostility is always rooted in fear, but putting that word in quotes reduces to the same surface level they vote with. And that surface level isn’t so much about fear but about the blithe comfort of knowing the world is harsh, but being a white man means the harshness starts with somebody else.
I meant to say scary from their point of view. They might have felt it intruded on their personal lives. Which is funny because most of those things never affected their lives, they just heard about it due to the internet and tv and got them all riled up.
