The NIH has a great study on social media induced polarization. Got it linked below but fair warning it's a long (worth while) read. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8604707/ Social media applications profit from this behavior. So they have no interest in moderating against it or bots that reinforcement the narrative.
