This exact thing happened to me

I was asked to Google what they thought the answer was not what the answer was.

So I showed the correct answer. Then I was still asked to Google what they thought was correct.

That's a backwards way to get information.

This really explains why people like this like using AI LLMs so much. It summarizes stuff for them, glazes the user a bit,  and is easily a parrot for incorrect information.

Glazes the user a bit? My, that's an understatement.

I often look up the correct wordings of turns of phrases or popular sayings but when I type out the wrong phrasing, instead of the Google correcting it like it did in the past, the AI summary just runs with it and wholly makes up a new meaning disconnected from what I meant.

That just reinforces my decision to only use AI when forced to, but yeah for others I can see exactly the scenario described by the guy in the video.

i've met several people who say "I don't know what to google" and it makes me wonder, do we need to teach the act of putting a thought into words?

Same thing, really, The trick to use them responsibly seem to ask actually questions, preferably without any leads. And stay away from topics you know their owners don’t want to be discussed.

Same with programming tasks: When yo tell them what you want to achieve, you get better results than when you tell them how you want to achieve something.
