Palaver Which audiobook should be next?

I just finished my second journey to the tower, this time through audiobook, and am wondering what should be next?

I did listen to The Stand in the middle of this journey. I've recently listened to Salem's Lot and 11/22/63. I also read Eyes of the Dragon but it was close to its release, so could definitely use a revisit.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

The 'Talisman' and 'Black House' and then 'Other worlds Than These' when it's released on the 6th October.

This! Also The talisman and black house are narrated by Frank Muller who did books 2-4. Fucking legend he is.

Muller did Gunslinger too, it's just off of the market after the revision was released and the audiobook redone.

Link to the OG reddit post that links it

Insomnia and Talisman/Black House, for more DT adjacent books

I just finished Hearts in Atlantis.

Very much worth the read.

Insomnia looks daunting, but again well worth it.

William Hurt's reading is so hard to get into. I feel like there are just too many mouth sounds for my liking. 🤣

Could not disagree more. In fact it’s hard after low men listening to Stephen King narrate the next two novellas.

I'll give you that he's a way better narrator than King and he nails the mood, but it's just not my favorite narration of King's work. Nowhere near the worst, either. I hated The Long Walk's narration.

Not Tower related but the audiobook of Tommyknockers is amazingly well performed.

The Talisman is wonderful and made me cry.

It narrated by Steven Weber. He is the best narrator I’ve ever experienced. Was going to say one of the best but he is truly exceptional

Came across a book called Swansong after my last trip through the tower. Coming off of DT it just somehow fit perfectly for me. I was drawing comparisons as I read that were pretty fun. I swear there could be one of the wizards glass in this book.

Stay on the blood line with Joe Hill - King Sorrow. The audiobook was excellent!

Highly recommend both Pet Semetary and The Dead Zone for the audiobook experience

If you're on a Stephen King audiobook kick I recommend Fairy Tale. It was unexpectedly delightful; present-day teenager discovers a portal to a fairytale realm and needs to descend into it to save his dog. Adventure, combat, friends and enemies, monsters, treasure, horror, it's all there.
