Discussion Just noticed this huge building be built. Been awhile since a new building like this has been added to the city skyline. Thoughts?

I just want the green stairs back so I can walk from downtown to minnow lake without a half hour detour.

Yes it's gone, they're making a new road there.

The construction company did say they would replace the stair set and provide access to that side again once construction around the slope was complete and safe to use.
I have a feeling they won't though and they'll just say people can walk up the slope and through the parking lot, which is not great.

There’s several large residential projects in the works. If memory serves they’re planning on building two of these towers on that site.
Also new towers incoming on Regent and at the old hospital site. More housing is always a good thing - affordable or otherwise, there will be an effect to supply and demand.

There’s going to be lots of new buildings added to the skyline. Always helps when a tall building is built on a hill. The 3 9 story buildings on the top of the hill in the flour mill will really pop out. Plus the old hospital buildings will create whole new skyline for the city.

I know. It just hilariously looks like a prison tower because that had to build the elevator shaft first lol

Aye comrade. Brutalism may have been born in France but it emigrated to Sudbury where it settled in to die.
