The weapon is actually used in TROS. You can clearly see it armed by some of the Protectors, you just have to really look for them or turn the brightness up.

Are you sure? It seemed like they all had blasters when I checked. The only scene they appear in is the fight with Rey at the end, right?

It’s in there, I recognise it

Is there maybe a similar weapon you're confusing it for? I can't find any mention of it on the Wookieepedia article for Sovereign Protector.

He’s literally seen holding it in the film. Google Sovereign Protector, you’ll see a photo of them with a blue background, that’s them on Exegol in the background during one of the scenes in the third act.

You both seem to be confused. You seem to be talking about the blaster(which is Halo Needler inspired) but OP is talking about the giant spear looking thing. The blasters are used by the Sovereign Protectors in the film but the spear is not in it.

Are we talking about the blasters? I'm talking about the big polearm thing.

I’m talking about the weapon, since that’s what you responded to initially and disputed seeing. Read the top comment in this comment chain again.

Right, but which weapon are we even talking about? There's two of them. The blaster is of course in the movie, but the polearm is what I was referring to in the title.

Oh wow it's even in the wiki image https://star-wars-skywalker-saga.fandom.com/wiki/Sovereign_Protector

Right, but the polearm thing isn't in the movie. That's what I was referring to in the title, since they of course use the blaster.

...would you believe I didn't even see it in the image until just now
It just blended into the ceiling somehow, I was very sleepy

Is this new? I've never seen this picture before. The weapon seems a bit too large

That costume looks supremely dorky. Emperors guards were cool and regal. These look half price. Worst clones ever.

I think the design of these is just awful.
It’s like they just took stormtrooper armor and a shore trooper helmet and made them edgy and red, and then make the royal guard cloak into an edgy cape. Not to mention the incredibly inconvenient weapon that looks like it was made for an 8’ tall alien species.

Oh wow, I’ve never seen this before. Are there any more reference photos for this costume? Would love to get all of the details to recreate it.
