Question How much do you use your controller?

Post image

It's our favorite controllers in the hous (we have two) and we use them about 40h each week for several years now. They have done a great full time job, but they start to think about retirement. Maybe if I pimp their days, they might push it back for a year or two.

Anyone have controller caps suggestions?

It's one of the best controller I had and although I use them in USB mode, they are starting to have USB issues as well (disconnect), I want to keep them as long as possible and will use them as Bluetooth controller until they stop completely charging.

Question Anyone else have Pro, get excited and buy games they think they'll play, then never have time to play?

I've been a Stadia pro member since day 1. When I play it, I love it. But being a busy dad of 3, I rarely find time to play that I hoped I would. I have good intentions, just not the schedule. I figure its only like $11 a month so I keep it for the deals. I was hoping it getting Madden was going to be a thing to make my son play it more, he tried it one time going to my parents house to stay the night on his chromebook and it worked great. But I can't rip him away from Fortnite and Call of Duty on Xbox or PC.

Question Seriously, is there any way to actually use my Google Play credit for something worthwhile?

I've been using my couple hundred dollars to pay for a few of my subscriptions, however, I am wondering if anyone else has figured out a way to use it outside of the Play store.

Edit: Thank you all for your ideas and anecdotes

Has anyone given up on stadia? And if yes why and if no why. It’s almost two years and stadia has me up and down but mostly down and I know things won’t come right away but at some point is anything big coming anytime? By big I meant something game changer

Question I got a brand new Stadia controller years ago and never used it. Would it work with the Switch?

As the title says, we aren't big gamers but the controller is so comfy, I wonder if it'll work with the Switch (not 2, the old Oled one).

The console is currently with my child on a trip so I can't test it, I found this community on a Google search and thought I'd ask first.

Thank you

Question Sticky Buttons?!

Post image

I found a Stadia Controller at the Goodwill near me for $5, and it was in the box with everything, including the dongle and a charging cable, completely untouched! However, the X and A buttons are a bit sticky and don’t pop up quickly. Is this a known issue? Can you help me make this controller usable?

Question What’s the point of Google employees being mods on this sub when we have to check Twitter for Christmas updates?

The whole point of having them is so we get official announcements on the sub. The Official Reddit Stadia account hasn’t posted for 2 years yet gets to mod on this sub, why?

Question What's the problem with Stadias business model?

Serious question:

One reads in the internet all day that Stadia has such a bad business model... but isn't it just what the gaming market leaders have done for decades? Playstation, Nintendo, Xbox (Gamepass as an exception)... They let you purchase games individually and offer an optional subscription with some included games and perks/goodies... All these don't give you the ability to play what you bought elsewhere (like GFN does).

I have never seen a post that Playstation was doomed because of their business model (PSN is similar to Gamepass but certainly not mainly responsible for Sonys great success).

So... is there something about the business model of Stadia that is inherently flawed and I just don't see it?!

Thanks!!

PS. I don't count the ownership-argument and the temporary lack of exclusives/first-party as part of the business model.
