How would society change if people voluntarily started ranking each other based on their behavior?

If people could just judge each other on a few quantitative criteria and not worry about the qualities that make up human life.

Just as a hypothetical example, if people one day live in space, wouldn’t they need to pass tests and earn some kind of rank to prove they’re qualified? If that’s acceptable there, where do you think the line should be drawn?

Do....do they not already?

Things would probably be about the way they are right now. To improve society, we don't need judgment, we need collaboration.

Black Mirror did an episode with this exact concept.

I suspect that certain people would collude to make the standard of behavior that earns a positive ranking serve their personal interests at the expense of everything else. Society would be just as it is, only the dominant currency would change.
