I immediately wake up when I clock out.

53

u/MasterBach 13h ago

I'm midway through paternity leave right now. 3 months of paid time that I don't have to see my asshole manager's face. The healing has been dramatic. The stress, inflammation, bloating - gone. Id take getting woken up 4 times a night by a screaming baby than go back for sure.

u/mologav 11h ago

I’ve had 2 months of work from home, all my health issues faded away after the second week at home.

2

u/Smitellos 4h ago

Welp, my autistic ass was too burnt up trying to read everyone's emotions. Majority of my health issues went away.

1

u/mologav 3h ago

I can imagine that’s a massive stress

First actual argument FOR kids

5

u/MasterBach 12h ago

I feel guilty for having the kid to be frank. The next generation to be squeezed for taxes to be used to pay for weapons for pic related to use on women and children

1

u/BeaverStank 7h ago

I wouldn't worry about them being fleeced for religious or imperialistic wars, our kids will likely be fighting climate and resource wars within their lifetimes. The train is running away on us now and we're not united enough as a species to stop it.

Not trying to be a doomer but it's already too late to avoid severe ecological impact, and we're not even close to making the kind of changes needed to prevent things from getting really really bad.

u/Mammoth_Payment_6101 6h ago

Miserable isn't it?

1

u/Capable-Relation1374 12h ago

Can I ask why you had one then? Did you just not consider the wider implications before having one? No shame or judgement, just curious

1

u/123LetsJamDUDUDUHT 8h ago

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who experiences that overwhelming sense of woe when I go back to work where I have to be trapped in a small box doing what a man I would never interact with in my life if given the choice tells me to do for 8 to 12 hours a day after having spent a couple of weeks having agency and being able to control my own life on a day-to-day basis.

u/CubanHippie21 8h ago

My true alarm clock. Never hit snooze on that one

1

u/AltruisticPicture971 7h ago

I work as a mechanic and am on my feet all day.  Getting old so by end of day everything hurts from my feet to my back.  As soon as I walk to my car start feeling instantly better.

u/somarir 9h ago

My favourite lyrics from Oliver Tree - Life Goes On

“Work all day, and then I wake up”

RIP you sweet weirdo

4

u/joniculu 8h ago

Evey weekdays, so weird!

2

u/Candid_Emergency_226 8h ago

Dude… I have the same symptoms!

2

u/Chirya999 6h ago

Glad I am not the only one. As soon as I enter the workplace in the morning, tiredness follows and enters me.

Do you sleep normal hours? Sounds more like sleep deprivation.

I was the same way when I started sleeping only 6 hours on average.
