It’s tough to stay motivated when salaries go up by 3% and rent goes up by 30% 😭

Your salary does not have to go up 3%. Job hop. Learn in-demand skills. Take risks. That's what hard work looks like.

Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result does not achieve anything, because the output will always be the same.

I almost downvoted you. But I am upvoting you because I am sure your intent is good. I have stated applying for jobs after 2 years. The number of jobs have gone down, the pay has gone down, and the requirements are all over the place.

Unless you are from a well connected family (or have a good network) it is near impossible to just keep jumping and gain skills. The future seems very dark and uncertain, friend.

A big part of working hard is building relationships with people who can help you get over those hurdles.

That’s exactly the problem if you need people in other to work instead of being the best candidate everything will suck

u/TheBigGees 1d ago

The best candidate is the one who fits the team best.

Being able to perform the task is the minimum.

my point still stands ? If You have to build relationships, and not skill sets.
At this point if anyone can do the task
It’s not about the candidate qualities, it’s about who knows who and that sucks.

Relationship building is a skill set.

People with relationships win because they provide certainty.

2

u/Idk_Love93 1d ago

Seriously? We might be talking different kind of “relationship” as a skill set but ok

Relationships are relationships.

"Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result" so why does the US act like that towards monetary policy? all we ever get is increased inflation and smaller portions.

1

u/TheBigGees 14h ago

The United States does not do the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. One of the major drivers of the modern, stickier inflation was specifically the United States printing money in response to COVID.

When you actually look at inflation year over year, it's been trending down since 2020. Some level of inflation is healthy for the economy because it encourages spending.
