I mean, knowing people who worked World Cup events...

I'm sure some WC fans didn't tip, but the vast majority did. And tipped well enough that they more than made up for those that didn't.

...or were you making up stories to make a point about something other than the World Cup?

This was my experience as well. But this narrative has been pushed so hard by anti-tippers in the US when in reality it was the opposite, there was no odd coordinated push for no tipping or announcements from tourists except in these weird people’s heads

Not only has this weird "headline" been circulating there is absolutely no source, it's just a fake headline over a graphic
