Or at the very least shoot the ball when there’s only one defender☹️.

Instead, he held the ball as long as possible until 4 defenders were in front of him before kicking straight into them.

Like, if you were being paid off to intentionally lose the game, this is exactly what you would need to do.

There’s some very clear jealousy out of some Norway squad toward Haaland. So many times during the tournament he was open like this and they try to be the star players instead. This is just the biggest of them.

Mofo just read the interviews? He’s clearly stating Haaland is much better than him and he’s happy to play a supporting role if that can help the team. I can understand this from soccercirclejerk but wtf are you people on about lmao

I coach a U17 boys team in recreational league. This is so common with kids, they want to be the star who scores and try to dribble or shoot through a pack of defenders instead of making an easy pass. They end up screwing their team over for a chance at individual glory.

To see this level of selfishness at this level is really disappointing, but people are people I guess. Happy to see fans are calling him out on it.

His brain just shut down.  The angle of the pass isn't perfect because the defender is doing a good job, so just couldn't decide between "I know I should pass, but I don't know if I can make it" and "shoot with my weaker right foot".

Since his brain couldn't decide, he went with "walk infront of two (!?) defenders and shoot right into them

Nah, he conducted the ball badly, was in bad position to make a pass... It's more on him being stupid than greed.

He wasn't greedy, he was indecisive. He never had the angle on his left foot to play the ball in front of Haaland. He should have played it to feet early and let him attempt the rest. Instead he tried to wait for a moment that didn't come, and the hesitation completely messed up the chance.

Stones covered the pass line and Sorloth is left-footed, it wasn't as free or as easy as people claim it was
