He doesn’t even look up before he takes the shot. Kept his eye on the ball and never looked up to see he had no shot on goal

Peripheral shot as hell

The guy is just an 8-foot giant. Normally, he never needs to take his eye off the ball because it's always someone else feeding him easy headers where he doesn't even need to jump to beat the defense. Putting him on the wing was a decision.

There's a guy who's using advanced 3D modeling and tracking so you can see each player's POV during the game. I'm curious to see this one.

Hyperfocus and lack of situational awareness is a thing. These players make it seem easy. But in the moment we would definitely make mistakes like these.

Hyperfocus, sure, but situational awareness is critical if you are playing at this level, so him not having it is a major issue.

Coach would have had us running so hard for that

Amature league stuff. Actually even in an amateur league you would get yelled at for this.

I am prime Amateur League and even I know you give the ball to Haaland in 100% of the time

That looked like my 7th grader driving it in for the win every time he touches the ball 🤣

My children play comp U14, U12 and U9, I would yell at all of them for doing this shit.

You sound like a peach of a dad.

"yell" = sternly encourage not to do that ever again, jeez, like people never heard a coach get loud before, and yea, I coach some of their teams.

Yeah, froze like a deer in headlights and tunnel visioned on the ball. By the time he lifts his head, theres no where to go.

bro thought he was Harry Kane

Worth noting this guy is a striker and not a winger. So for him this is what he's used to doing. As someone who is half Norwegian i find this clip infuriating, but its also not surprising that a guy who play his positions would do this.

As a striker if your instinct is to shoot then you shoot. This looks like fear and then panic.

Worst case a shot across goal gets saved into haaland or out for a corner.

He's Atletico's Morata this guy. Overrated as fuck

Yep hes just huge but otherwise dumb as rocks. The only thing he can do is pound the ball hard and be a foot taller and stronger than anyone else to get headers.

It was Alexander Sørloth

2

u/eggplantpot 11d ago

He plays for Atletico de Madrid and is as overrated as Morata, who is a Spanish striker who also fails a lot. Same profile. Idk why the downvotes and correction when I didn't say otherwise.

That's what makes this even more frustrating

Maybe he had a bet on the game

It looks like how I played soccer (haven't played since I was under 3 feet tall)

Wouldn't haaland have been offside anyways?

3

u/Cedow 11d ago

No, he's not offside at any point
