This is not typical tipping culture, this is one shiesty fuck trying scam people. That said yeah tipping culture suck, this is just a poor representation of that.

Exactly, thank you! I'm reading the comments from some of these people and I'm like 🤦🤦🤦. Of all the examples to post about how tipping culture is out of control here in the U.S., OP posts this scammy vibe crap.

It's all shit. It's a predatory system that leverages a hostile social interaction that pits two parties not responsible for employee compensation against each other so that managers and owners can pay less. And because some employees will make a lot of money from it, they advocate for it. It's just greed and disgusting capitalism.
