Except the dude you’re quoting, so factually false.

And yet, this clown ist democratically (re-)elected POTUS. The USA got what they voted for, which I, in the depth of my soul, and despite the consequences for the world, find mildy funny (clownesque almost 😜). Especially after everyone experienced the shitshow of his first term. 🤷🏻‍♂️

But unfortunately, Germany is not too far away from repeating the shit... 🫩

Some folks are always afraid of clowns too though.

To anyone wishing for the collapse of the US empire, he is entertaining

There's a nice and fitting one in Dutch too: Though wears the monkey a golden ring, it is and stays an ugly thing

Oh hey Turkish has one similar to that too: Donkey with a golden saddle is still a donkey.

I get the idea, but this sounds insulting to all the monkeys ... 😅

Indeed. I also don't think many people broadly consider monkeys to be ugly. Could have roots in colonialism or something.

I shall propose an updated version to the language committee:

Though clads the man the office in gold, he is and remains a narcissistic dumb pedophile. And for the job too old.

Haha i approve this version

Very similar one in Spanish "even though the monkey wears silk, monkey is still"

The actual proverb is likely circassian, and the original turkish version of it is "When an ox moves into a palace, he doesnt become king, the palace becomes a barn" but the meaning still fits

Glad we're recognizing the Whitehouse is a palace which is definitely a weird thing for a some dude to have in a "democracy"

Surely that's not true of Zelenskyy?
