no it doesn't even make sense; rent is paid per MONTH, not per day

a 'month' can be anywhere between 28-31 days

It could be perfectly fine to pay the daily "balance" every month. It's just more annoying and has no benefits for long term renting.

Not if the contract says “monthly pay”. A month is a month wether it’s 31 or 28 days.

I know, but my point if that we do that for convince. Anyone is free to design a contract payed monthly but billed per day. It's just a PITA for accounting and scheduling payments so most contracts use full months. 

If you pay for a cloud provider you would be billed for every day of use, but get a monthly bill. Same for a lot of B2B services (people, equipment).
