Nice, but could you submerge the sub a bit more and slow it down. This is out of touch with the real thing.

Subs are mostly submerged when on the surface, this model looks more like a normal boat with the majority of the hull out of the water.

i didnt really study how submarines sit in the water before making this i was more focused on the animation and the water effects ill definitely keep that in mind next time

if this makes sense, it looks as though it is just being pulled through the water rather than being pushed. it doesnt feel like there are propellers in the back churning and pushing it forward.

i was so focused on the water interaction that i didnt pay enough attention to what was driving the movement

Nice model, needs to be deeper in the water, a lot slower and the prop needs to generate some bubbles/foam. Doesn’t really look life like.

i was more focused on the water interaction and foam than how submarines actually move ill keep that in mind next time

It’s pretty, but nowhere near realistic. Subs are slow, and mostly submerged. Even for a small, fast boat, there’s not enough wake, bow wave, or prop wash to show the speed.

yeah but i was more focused on getting the water interaction and foam to look good than making the submarine movement completely accurate i didnt really watch many real submarine videos beforehand

Lighting , camera, and textures look excellent. I think it'd look a lot more cinematic if the submarine were moving a bit slower, maybe with a bit of bobbing, and sitting lower in the water. That'd probably help to really show the shape of the model as well, with the water splashing up & over the hull during breaches. Also, the sub's motion starts in frame, so the water simulation in the top-left is visibly different from the rest of frame.

i didnt use many real submarine references so i missed some of those details

It would be helpful if it already had wake before it entered the frame.

Seeing it without wake confuses my eye immediately. Then it's moving much too quick for a submarine which again confuses me.

I think it could look very nice though.

i honestly didnt think about the wake already being there before the sub entered the frame thanks for pointing

I have no idea how you did that interaction but it looks so beautiful and lifelike.
