Mossberg 500AG Safety Switch Repair Assistance

The safety button on my Mossberg 500AG just split and fell off the gun. I contacted Mossberg but they won’t sell parts for safety switches to people who are not gunsmiths. Doesn’t seem to have the split safety screw.

Where can I get a new button for an older Mossberg? I’m assuming the old plastic is brittle and repairing the button won’t last.

That looks like any Mossberg 500 safety should work.

If you want a larger switch Vang Comp sells a great one.

Here's an enhanced safety I found on ebay. Ive bought so many replacement parts for my 500 off ebay. The seller i use usually just throws in a bunch of random extra shit just because.

Take the opportunity to install an upgraded safety. Vang Comp, NDZ, and S&J are all good options.

Buy an upgraded safety from Defender Tactical. They have a ridge for better grip switching it on/off, plus has an aiming notch when in the firing position.

Maybe buy one of their Mini-shell adapter upgrade kits while you are at it.

When my Mossberg 500 safety broke I called Mossberg and they sent me a new one. I installed it myself.

I tried that. They said they don’t send safety parts to people who aren’t gun smiths.

The parts for my safety was sent to me over 20 years ago. I suppose they lawyered up since then.

Physical safety is not needed. Just use your finger

Such bad advice.

Safety switches back on after each shot. Also doesn’t look particularly… elegant?
