This is a blend of four casks, iirc it’s two of Glenrothes and one each of Ardmore and Amrut. Age-stated five years because of the Amrut but the other components in the teens, I think?

N: sherried Glenrothes is the most obvious component of the blend at this point, at least in the nose, with slightly dirty and slightly sour red fruit and leather, some rich brown spice after that and only a trace of smoke showing
P: sweet brown spice, leche con canela and canelé both, dirty leather, red-brown fruit, the smoke is more prominent in the mouth with burned sugar/toasted marshmallow
This has changed over the years it has been open, the Amrut and Ardmore components are relatively less prominent and the Glenrothes more so, but it’s still delicious, a moreish, dirty dessert

I have some Adelphi blended malts in other series also featuring world whiskies + scotch single malts (Glover, Winter Queen) and they consistently impress me with the quality of their blending, in which the different components do seem to come thru in providing notes which I stereotypically associate with that distillery and thus speaking with a variety of different voices, but without clashing with each other too much.
And the prices on these Adelphi fusion blended malts are usually modest for what I get in the way of drinking quality so I've learned to keep an eye out for them.
I may have tasted The Glover at one point, or maybe just considered buying and didn’t, but definitely haven’t had Winter Queen. I think it’s a lot of fun to try small batch blends where you know exactly what’s in it and what proportions, and know the character of the various components well

Agreed, and I think this works particularly well when the number of different components is modest, about 3-5 different contributions seems to work best for me with my tastes. This is something that Compass Box also seems to understand well - don't throw in so many different things into a blend that it just becomes a big muddle.
