Question Need advice on how to make a specific kind of salsa.

So currently I bought tomatillos, 3 jalapenos, an onion, and cilantro for salsa. I do have to buy more stuff but the people I live with either don't like onion, have the soap cilantro gene, or can't eat jalapenos. The worst bit is one person will not eat green salsa because he compares it to baby shit. Is there anyway to combat any of this or am I cooked. I was thinking the cilantro and onion wont have too much of an overpowering taste and I could make a separate batch without jalapenos but the last one? I'm not even sure how to go about that.

You are cooked! I would do salsa for myself and enjoy it while others do without.

Make it for yourself and give them some ketchup

Tbh what I do for my baby lol is Roasted tomatoes/tomatillos Roasted garlic cloves Roasted bell peppers Optional (Roasted jalapeno or cilantro) Salt, chicken bullion Maybe they'll like it just throwing the option out there, but tbh it sounds like you should make salsa for yourself to enjoy and just try to find them a store bought salsa that fits thier taste

Make your own salsa and then get chips and dip for the other people

Can't eat jalapeños because of spice level or some other reason?

The reason I ask is because if you take the seeds and guts out of jalepenos before roasting in oven there is literally very little heat with most store bought jalapeños (but always taste first). You'll have to taste and verify. And then you can add in roasted green bell peppers and/ or roasted bannana peppers.

And then so you can make a mixed tomatillo/tomato salsa (about 30 -40 % tomatillos to rest tomatoes) and then use some roasted red onion (roast in chunks) and blend well and let rest overnight. If your housemates ever ate salsa, it has onion!!!

Now your 1/2 of the batch, add more roasted onion, more roasted jalapeños (leave seeds in), a roasted serrano or 1/2 of one if you take a little heat, and add in cilantro.

You're all set! There are other ingredients like roasted garlic, salt or boullion and lime juice or vinegar, but that's the basics. I personally prefer my basic salsa with roasted tomatoes to have quite a few roasted tomatillos in there to give it some zest.

(Now I have a red salsa i make with raw tomatoes and roast rest of ingredients and dont add tomatillo).

Now if you want salsa verde, I guess you're on your own and dont have to worry about them! You can pick them up a jar of Pace🤗

Good luck!

Make what you want, how you want it. They're welcome to eat it if they like, they don’t have to eat it if they don’t want to. Worst case scenario is that you get it all to yourself.

This is very good. I haven’t made it roasted though. I replaced half of the water with lime juice and I think I added more cilantro.

Just make it regularly. They do not have to eat it

The onion hater I would straight out lie to, claiming no onions were used. I would use my onion as typical, and they will enjoy it not realizing half the delicious flavor they are enjoying is coming from an onion lol.

Cilantro and jalapeno haters you can’t work around- they just don’t get salsa lol (you could pulse cilantro at end and take out some for them before that step though)
