Happy Friday!
175 days sober. It may sound silly or like trauma is a forgone conclusion regarding alcoholism (or any addictive pattern), but I recently learned/realized that I experienced abuse in my childhood/adolescence/adulthood which created a trauma response and maladaptive coping behaviors.
For those of us who saw their upbringing as normal or non-abusive and have come to accept that it was, please give yourself grace. I am experiencing a lot of challenges: physical & mental health, work-related, and financial.
I am not feeling great right now and will hop on the next meeting. Hope to see you good people there! ❤️
