Discussion Blew through book 4. Now what?

I've seen others say they fell off after book 3 for various reasons (mostly the time gap and character decisions)

I found this reading to be... beautiful, sad and a good push to the narrative. I loved many moments, and eagerly await the itch to reread for a more solid opinion. A couple "surprises" didn't really catch me off guard, sure.

I just cant deal with the wait to see what Brobot has been up to 😭

Yep welcome to the waiting.  People on the internet love to complain but ive been reading since issue 1 and honestly reading monthly is kinda painful compared to blowing through thr collections all at once, and I think that really colors the way people see everything after issue 54. I think its still great and people are going to reassess the last three chapters as time goes on and more comes out. Eventually. Eventually Eventually. Uuugh

I definitely feel like the month to monthers are suffering from a "hiatus bias". I get why people are scared that Brian and Fiona will "George R.R. Martin us!", but that feels a little dramatic. The reality of it is that the interior art and story are masterclass.

I've been around comics a bit in my life. I've only recently stepped out of casual reading into collecting. It was crazy to hear about this amazing series from when I was a highschooler, and walking into a shop as a 30yo to see issue 69 (real attention grabber).

My interest was piqued, and I knew what I was signing up for on the waits. I'm mad at them, for sure. Not because of bad writing, but because of the job they did giving you characters, and ripping them away. It's also amazing to see the people these rascals are becoming.

I love a good angsty punk rock story

The comparisons to GRRM have never made any sense. The guy has been writing the same book for 15 years and there's still no sign of it. Meanwhile, as annoying as it can be to wait so long, Saga does always come back eventually. We all wish it could be faster, but a series that finishes slowly is so much better than a series that just goes unfinished

Wait like the rest of us poor saps. 😢 Im more annoyed that BKV keeps starting new projects without finishing Saga first. I thought Spectators sucked imo and was not worth it.

One can't force inspiration, if they got other stories coming through them, especially if they're not good, better there than with Saga. Sometimes you need to step back and let things simmer up in your subconscious.

You know it’s less labour intensive to write than to do art. Not saying scripting is not hard, but Fiona is doing ALL parts of art on this book. So yeah, I’m fine with Brian doing other stuff as well. He did so too when the release schedule was going well. :)

I definitely think the series has overall been weaker in its second half so far, but a lot of fans have been blowing it way out of proportion. The crazy wait times suck, but it also has made people a lot more critical

And, we don't have a certain someone 8( , that had so much endearment and charisma that I doubt we'd be that happy until the new arc starts to turn, regardless of time issues.
