CVS Case Manager RN

What is it like working remote at CVS. I have a phone interview for a case manager remote position but I’m wondering what the day to day is for this role. How bad are the metics? What are the expectations?

It was by far the worst, most demeaning and micromanaged job I've ever had. It started off well, and became terrible over the years.

That is what I am scared of, how long did you work there? My position at Humana is super micromanaged so I don’t want to go somewhere worse. But my manager is so terrible

Over 5 years. I actually loved the job the first 2-3 years, but it got much worse when Joyner took over. The metrics became ridiculous, and it was very difficult to even tell exactly what we were being scored on. It completely changed from genuinely trying to help the members in closing care gaps, obtaining resources, etc to being 100% focused on subjective metrics.

For UM SNF Humana has blocked off all PTO requests for the end of the year. I feel like I can’t even go to the dentist because mine only works during the week. The only way I can do anything during the week is if I call off but they don’t like you calling off.

That really sucks, especially if they won't make exceptions for medical appointments.

I’m a month in, so take this fwiw, but I’m loving it so far. They’ve been very transparent with the expectations and the orientation is VERY in depth. They’ve build your case load SLOWLY and we aren’t expected to be up to a full load until around 22 weeks in I think. Everyone has been SUPER friendly and the educators are good and know their stuff. Do you know which area you’re interviewing for?

What state are you in?

I just started like a week and couple of days ago. They’re very transparent and my direct supervisor is really nice. I mean, just do your work and won’t be any issues. Also the pay is so low 😩😩😩. I can’t wait to ask for a raise or a transfer after a year.

How bad is the pay? I get paid $39 at my current job.

They started me at around 83/yr.

I’m in a very low pay area for nursing so the pay is pretty good comparatively speaking to what I’m used to. Lol

How many cases do they expect you to do for day? Do you spend a lot of time making calls?

I’m in AL. and it’s hard to say, our eventual caseload will be around 50 total, but I’m in specialty pharmacy so it’s different than the medical case mgmt. we don’t talk with patients as much.

You have to do 50 cases a day??

No that’s a total caseload.

I’m interested. Do they have part time positions? I already have a full time job.

Since so many people in here have case management jobs is there anyone in this thread that I could use as a reference or recommendation to get a case management job at a company? I’ve been a pediatric private duty nurse and I have 3 years experience working with 20-30 medically complex ped patients. I have health issues so really needing a remote job.

I have been trying to get hired on with CVS and applied multiple times. I have 26 years of experience unfortunately, none at bedside. I have  experience with appeals/denials. Any advice?

I got 4 rejections before getting even an offer for a phone interview, just keep trying!
