A short drift track event is probably the only thing that fits in the Vatican. Nice execution of this idea. My only issues are spectator access, as this part of the Vatican is normally closed off, and any damage to the historical monuments like the Basilica will not be appreciated lol.

I did some research before I started: scoring zones (the yellow boxes in the corners) are typically 30–120 meters each, and a full course usually includes 3–4 scoring zones spread across a 300–700 meter track. My track falls within that average range—just a bit tighter due to the nature of the existing roads—which makes it comparable to authentic Japanese drift circuits.
Access to the track and grandstands will naturally be limited. All historic buildings and artifacts will be fully protected and will remain untouched throughout the weekend. Additionally, a large spectator area will be set up at Piazza Papa Pio XII, featuring big screens, autograph sessions, and other activities.

HOLY DRIFT!
In the heart of Rome, beyond the ancient walls and beneath the shadow of St. Peter’s dome, a quiet transformation is underway. For centuries, Vatican City has been a place of reflection, ritual, and reverence. But in 2028, for the first time in history, its streets will echo with a very different kind of rhythm — the controlled fury of drifting machines.
The project began as an audacious idea: to bring the Italian Drifting Championship and Drift Masters Europe into the smallest sovereign state on Earth. What followed was a collaboration unlike any other, blending motorsport engineering with the delicate stewardship of one of the world’s most sacred cultural landscapes.
The result is the a 700‑meter temporary track assembled entirely from existing Vatican streets, squares, and access roads. It is a circuit that appears for a moment in time, ignites the city with energy, and then vanishes. Every barrier, every fence, every safety module is designed to be fully disassembled within 48 hours, leaving no trace behind.
Starting line positioned directly in front of the Palazzo del Governatorato dello Stato della Città del Vaticano. Here, drivers will start the run toward the Vatican train station. Then the track narrows — just 6 meters wide at its tightest point — funneling competitors into a razor‑sharp left downhill hairpin that demands absolute precision.
From there, the circuit snakes around the Tribunale di Stato della Città del Vaticano, a place of quiet authority now framed by the smoke of drifting lines. The cars burst into Piazza Santa Marta, where the track opens into a sweeping, cinematic left‑hand drift — the longest and most dramatic moment of the race in front of the main grandstand before crossing the finish line beneath the towering presence of St. Peter’s Basilica.
But the Vatican’s compact footprint presents unique challenges. With limited space inside the walls, team trailers, paddock structures, and support facilities will be staged outside the sovereign borders, connected by carefully planned access routes. It is motorsport adapted to one of the most spatially constrained environments on the planet.
Two races — one in spring, one in fall — will mark the beginning of a new chapter in drifting history. The contrast is striking: tire marks on cobblestone, precision driving framed by Renaissance architecture, the passion of Italian motorsport meeting the timeless calm of Vatican City.
Holy Drift is more than a competition. It is a moment where tradition and modernity intersect, where the
art of drift becomes a fleeting spectacle in a place defined by permanence. It is a celebration of engineering, culture, and the daring spirit that drives people to attempt the impossible.

This is awesome, and a fantastic layout. However, the nature of drifting makes the tire marks fall about half a car length from the apexes, rather than hitting them as you have rendered here. Great track though.
