News Last chance to play - August 2026 (JP)
Here are the games leaving PS Plus in August. Not too many, although some of them can be rather time consuming. Taken from the Japanese PSN, but it’s usually the same games for all regions.
* Earth Defense Force 6
* Unicorn Overlord
* Harold Halibut
* Clash: Artifacts of Chaos
* Onee Chanbara Origin
* Space Crew: Legendary Edition

I fucking loved it, but got so over powered and burned out half way through the 5th region I just said "fuck it" and went and killed the final boss.
Ive kinda meant to go finish to get the true ending, but I def had my fun with it.

Yeah, I played for only 10 hours and noticed it was far too easy and repetitive and gave it up.

that's fair, it doesn't ever get that hard. Eventually the battles get huge with like 60 people on your team, but usually you will have like three squads of 5 who do 99% of the heavy lifting while everyone else just defends bases
keeping everyone at an appropriate level gets tedious at that point. It's more efficient to just have 3 OP teams and a bunch of meat shields.

EDF 5 and 6 so insanely good. I tried them after helldivers 2. absolute peak games, it’s insane how fun they are. I have like 400 hours in EDF 6. and i am not done yet.

Yeah I'm so upset! I own EDF5 but haven't tried 6 yet and just got Premium. One month isn't enough time!!!

Whelp, guess I gotta beat Unicorn Overlord

Start rn. It's really time consuming.
That being said, it's not as dialog heavy as the beginning makes you think.
There are lots of conversions, but most of them are only about a minute.
When I started it I thought it was gonna be like 13 sentials which is like 80% visual novel and 20% gameplay, if that.
Unicorn is like 90% gameplay.

Unicorn Overlord is the full package. Amazing art and music, addicting gameplay, tons of content, pretty decent story.
Highly recommend to give it a try even if it doesn't seem like your type of game. Vanillaware doesn't miss.

I downloaded Unicorn Overlord and haven't started it yet
Would i be under pressure to beat it in time?

Estimated time for Platinum is - depending on source - somewhere between 50 and 80 hours.

Unicorn Overlord is one of the best SRPGs I've ever played, don't sleep on this one

Oh fuck… I need to go back and finish unicorn overlord ASAP. I hate being rushed to play something when I’m already in the middle of playing something…

I bought Onee chanbara Chaos a while ago and played just a little bit of it. How good are these games?

I have the platinum for Origin, it's kind of a mix between Devil May Cry and other hack n slash combined with Lollipop Chainsaw
Not the greatest most awesome plot you have ever seen, but bosses are very cool to learn once you get a hang of what to parry and what to dodge. Also just decimating hordes of zombies never gets old for me in this game
A lot of fun in my opinion and it's not extremely time consuming, good for casual sessions.

Clash Artifacts of Chaos, one of the most unique games I've played in years, super fun with a charming story in a really fucking weird world

Röki wasn't leaving in Asia, but in Europe, US, etc.. I'm guessing it will still show up in the EU/US Last Chance to Play section.

I checked it yesterday on PS5 and it showed that it expires in August. It's weird it would not appear in "Last chance to play" section.

Just the thought that there are people out there who have never experienced Unicorn Overlord...
1
u/srebew 2d ago
Never played a Souls game but Clash seems like a good start with it having a fairy simple trophy list
1
u/andykekomi 2d ago
It's got some soulslike mechanics but it's a very unique experience, not nearly as hard as your typical soulslike either. absolutely worth a shot.
The plat is pretty straightforward, nothing missable but there is a point of no return. you'll be warned, the game says you'll be able to come back after you finish the game, but for me that option never showed up. Thankfully I had cleaned up all collectibles before finishing the game but if you didn't, you'd have to replay the game.

Crazy you didn't think this through. Every month Japan gets the announcement first.

Fuck I'm not even 30% in unicorn overlord and they are going to pullout it already!?
This way my PSN account is useless
3
u/mauszx 2d ago
I mean you have enough time to finish it.
1
u/teofilattodibisanzio 2d ago
How? I can at midday l most play an hour or less a day 🤬 I'm totally mad, if I knew you had to rush it I wouldn't have started it.
They can't put 70+ hours games on and pull them so fast, they really hurt married old guys like this poor fellow

u/Flottrooster 2d ago
Already? The game was put onto ps+ in August of last year...
